If you subsequently decide to cancel by the closing date you can do so by phone or email and we will simply tear up your check or return it to you at your option. Checks are not cashed before the closing date, so it is much easier to cancel at the last minute by phone or email than it is to enter at the last minute when you are totally dependent on the mail system.

A running order drawing to determine the number each dog will run under for each event will be conducted by the Test Secretary at the close of the entry period.

There will be no refunds after the deadline without a verifiable veterinary excuse. A $10.00 handling fee may be retained from any refund. Bitches in season are not permitted on the test grounds.

Send entry fee(s) and one complete entry form(s) for each event, clearly indicating the specific test. If using an overnight carrier, please use one that does not require a signature. Entry forms are available at:

DIRECTIONS: FIELD TEST HEADQUARTERS

On PA State Game Lands # 249 in the designated parking area. Please remember to keep the grounds clean and discard your trash in the proper receptacles. The open display or use of alcoholic beverages while on the test grounds is prohibited.

From Gettysburg take Route 15 North for approximately 5 miles to the Heidlersburg/Biglerville Exit (PA Route 234/Heidlersburg Road). Turn right at the top of the ramp and you will be going east on Route 234. Go approximately 1/3 mile and turn left on Gun Club Road. Go another 1/3 mile to the parking area on the right. Look for the orange NPRC signs that will direct you to the parking area. From the north, take the Route 234 exit and turn left on Rt. 234.

39.959077,-77.119127 are the parking lot coordinates.

Please note: If conditions on the game lands force us to change locations, you may find that the orange signs tell you to turn in an alternate direction than outlined above. Please do so, and we will make sure that we have adequate signage to the new test headquarters.

HOSPITALITY/FOOD: BYO, and there are a number of restaurants/fast food within a 20-minute drive of the test site.

HOTELS/MOTELS

The following hotels/motels are located near the test grounds. All have expressed dog-friendly attitudes, but confirm with the manager when making reservations that your dog(s) will be allowed in your room. Rates shown are the latest rack rates – you can probably do better:

Best Inn Gettysburg – 301 Steinwehr Avenue, Gettysburg, PA 17325 717-334-1188 Right across from the historic area and lots of room across the street to exercise your dogs.

Approximately $100/night, 13 miles from test site.

Travelodge – 613 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325 800-578-7878 This motel is right downtown, and is the worst of the four in terms of places to air your dog, but I’ve stayed there myself and otherwise it is a good deal.

Approximately $88/night, 12 miles from test site.

Comfort Inn – 871 York Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325 717-337-2400 Both this motel and the Motel 6 have good areas to exercise your dogs.

Approximately $77/night, 11 miles from test site.

Motel 6 – 606 York Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325 717-334-4274 Dogs are free.

Approximately $85/night, 11 miles from test site. Use EE discount code, CP541866
