Northern California Men’s Gymnastics

MEET SCHEDULING PROCEDURE

NOR-CAL has adopted this procedure to provide an opportunity for all interested organizations to host a meet. NCBGA (NorCal Coaches Assn) and NCGJA (NorCal Judges Assn) have developed the following procedure in consideration of the many requests, length of competitive season, availability of judges, and fairness to all member organizations.

IT IS STRONGLY ADVISED THAT MEET HOSTS CAREFULLY CONSIDER THE POTENTIAL OF THEIR MEETS. IF YOU ARE HOSTING FOR THE FIRST TIME OR HAD DIFFICULTY FILLING YOUR MEET IN THE PAST YEAR, THE ASSIGNING CHAIRMAN MAY LIMIT THE NUMBER OF DAYS YOU HOST.

  1. NOR-CAL membership: host club should be a member in good standing
  2. Requests must be made by a USAG certified Meet Director. All USAG sanctioning and meet policies must be followed.
  3. All Official request forms and fees (USAG Sanction Request, Request for Judges, $2.50/judge/session finder fees) must be sent to the NCGJA Secretary according to the above schedule.Make checks payable to NCGJA.
  4. Optional: include at least one alternate date in case your first choice can not be assigned

UPDATEDInfo for Meet Directors: (2/24/07 update)

-The Judges Association assigns roughly 30 meets each season (about 150 sessions total). Given this large volume of data to keep track of,it is the meet director’s responsibility to ensure that the Judging Assignment Director has all current info about your meet, especially if you make a change in session times or levels.

-When is this due? With your July 1st NCGBA Meet Application packet.

-21 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR MEET: Contact the Assignment Director to notify changes in sessions or start times. Note: It’s easier to cancel a session than add a session.

-7 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR MEET, GO TO AND VERIFY THAT THE INFO LISTED FOR YOU MEET IS CORRECT. IF IT’S NOT, EMAIL OR CALL IMMIDIATELY.

-How many athletes per session? Judging fees are based on 72 competitors maximum per session. For sessions with less than 45 kids you should strongly consider using 3 judges.

-If 6 judges are needed, but not available, you should consider reading the “How To Run 6 Events With 3 Judges” document, provided by the Assignment Dir. upon request.

-One touch warmup (1 to 11 minutes) add $25/judge. 12-14 minutes add $30. 15 minutes add $35.
