News and Updates
Hello All!
Well as we head out of August and into September this newsletter is a little look back on the clubs achievements over the busy summer holiday period, a chance to let you all know what’s happening with tuition and a chance to say a big thank you to all the helpers and members.
It has been a frustrating summer for all competitors with the weather and so many events being cancelled, we became a victim of this when we had to cancel our ODE at Helen Bell’s in July. Instead we ran a Show Cross at Northallerton Equestrian Centre on the 26th August which, by all accounts, was an enjoyable day for all concerned and the weather held out nicely! A big thank you to those on the committee, Tina Walker and the helpers on the day, for making this possible at such short notice.
The 19th August saw the Annual Riding Club Summer Show at Londonderry, thank you as always to Janat Coopland for the use of her field. We had a lovely day through the showers and although the ice cream man had some poor takings there were plenty of smiley faces and a very exciting climax with some impressive jumping in the dog show at the end! Well done to all competitors and a big thank you to judges and stewards.
Not forgetting a huge well done also to all of you who made the trip to Aston le Walls for the Horse Trials Championships. It was a very successful show of competitive spirit in good humour and a rewarding trip for the club and all competitors involved – congratulations all of you J
We still have the Nationals at Lincoln to come in September so Lots of Luck to everyone who is travelling down.
Happy back to school for all those young enough, fingers crossed for a sunny September!
