Supplies– Please have your supplies no later than the 3rd day of health. See your teacher if you are unable to do so.

-Pen (blue or black only) or Pencil

-Loose-Leaf Paper

-3 ring binder (may leave in room 216)

Homework

-Weekly current event summaries

-Occasional projects (Most work will be done in class)

Grading

-Each student starts the quarter with 100 points for being prepared. 2 points are deducted every time the student is unprepared (no notes, pen, pencil, homework etc.) Students have one “freebee” per quarter. This is an easy 100 points towards your grade so be prepared for class! You may leave your health binders in the classroom.

-Quiz/Test/Homework etc will be given a point value that you will be informed of when the work is assigned.

-Homework Policy- Remember you are earning all of your grades. Assignments that are handed in the day after will receive 10 points off. After 3 days, assignments are a 0.

-There will be a current event summary every other week. The format for this assignment will be given out in class. This is worth 20 points. Students are able to win BrosiusBucks. At the end of each month, Brosius Bucks will be distributed to select students. (Perfect homework, great participation, great effort, improvement etc). Brosius Bucks range from $1.00-$10.00 and may be cashed in as points towards tests, quizzes, homework etc.

* All missed work must be made up. See the “While you were out” drawer in the classroom.

Parental Involvement

Students will receive several assignments that will involve interaction and communication with their parent/guardian. Many sensitive, and sometimes embarrassing, questions come up in the life of an adolescent. I strongly encourage my students to cometo me for any advice, comfort and help. I will also always encourage my students to discuss these matters/questions with their own parent/guardian. It is my goal to keep the line of communication open.

Discipline

If a student chooses to misbehave in class, they will receive 1 warning and their name will go on the board. Two warnings and the parent will be called. Three warnings will result in a detention.
