2013 Summer School General Guidelines
In order to teach summer school assignments, all eligible teachers must complete training which will be held on July 3, 2013.
All instructional personnel must meet No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requirements.
Teachers must be certified to teach in the grade level\subject requested.
The hourly rate for Summer School Teachers is $30
I understand that summer employment is NOT guaranteed and if selected, I will work the ENTIRE summer school session.
This application should not be mistaken as a formal offer or contract of employment beyond August 2, 2013, and does not bind you or HISD to any employment relationship in any capacity after Summer School has ended. Should you wish to become a full time teacher with the district for the 2013-2014 school year, you must apply online and go through the District’s regular teacher selection process.
Your signature on this application constitutes your agreement that you understand the conditional nature of your employment, and understand that you are only being hired from July 8, 2013 through August 2, 2013.

- A background check which includes fingerprinting;
- A copy of 2 forms of identification such as a driver’s license, state id, or passport for I-9 purposes;
- A copy of your signed Social Security Card for payroll purposes;
- Official Transcripts indicating degree award ; copies will not be accepted
