  1. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
  2. Support Mechanical and HVAC equipment on roof with an engineered system designed for installation without penetrating roof membrane. The engineered support system shall consist of injection molded glass fiber filled nylon support foot, recycled rubber bound by polyurethane pre-polymer anti-vibration mat, hot dipped galvanized mild steel framework and fittings. System shall be factory designed to fit equipment in service conditions.
  3. Support Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning equipment on roof with an engineered system designed for installation without penetrating roof membrane. The engineered support system shall consist of injection molded glass fiber filled nylon support foot, recycled rubber bound by polyurethane pre-polymer anti-vibration mat, hot dipped galvanized mild steel framework and fittings. System shall be factory designed to fit VRF equipment in service conditions.
  4. Support Ductless Mini Split Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning equipment on roof with an engineered system designed for installation without penetrating roof membrane. The engineered support system shall consist of injection molded glass fiber filled nylon support foot, recycled rubber bound by polyurethane pre-polymer anti-vibration mat, hot dipped galvanized mild steel framework and fittings. System shall be factory designed to fit ductless mini split equipment in service conditions
  5. Support piping on roof with an engineered system designed for installation without penetrating roof membrane. The engineered support system shall consist of injection molded glass fiber filled nylon support foot, recycled rubber bound by polyurethane pre-polymer anti-vibration mat, hot dipped galvanized mild steel framework and fittings. System shall be factory designed to fit equipment in service conditions.
  6. Support ductwork on roof with an engineered system designed for installation without penetrating roof membrane. The engineered support system shall consist of injection molded glass fiber filled nylon support foot, recycled rubber bound by polyurethane pre-polymer anti-vibration mat, hot dipped galvanized mild steel framework and fittings. System shall be factory designed to fitductwork in service conditions.
  7. SUBMITTALS
  8. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
  9. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
  10. Load capabilities of equipment supports.
  11. Assembly instructions.
  12. QUALITY ASSURANCE
  13. Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing mechanical equipment, VRF, ductless mini split, and pipe support systems, with a minimum of five years of documented experience.
  14. Pre-Installation Meeting: After approval of submittals, prior to installation, conduct a meeting at project site attended by Architect, Contractor, Authority Having Jurisdiction roofing membrane installer, and equipment installer.
  15. Meeting is to describe in detail the installation process and to establish agreement, coordination, and responsibilities for each party.
  16. Prepare detailed meeting report and distribute copies to the Architect and all attendees.
  17. DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
  18. Deliver all materials to project site in manufacturer's original packaging, marked with manufacturer's name, product model names and catalog numbers, identification numbers, and other related information.
  19. Store materials under cover until needed for installation.
  20. PROJECT CONDITIONS
  21. Do not install products in locations where environmental conditions fall outside manufacturer's recommended limits of -40°F to +176°F.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

  1. Verify that roofing system is intact and that roof surfaces are smooth, flat, clean, and ready to receive work of this section.
  1. PREPARATION
  2. Clean surfaces of roof in areas to receive support bases.
  3. Remove debris, dirt, dust, oils, and other foreign materials.
  4. Ensure not to damage roof material when moving, handling and assembling support system and support system components.
  5. INSTALLATION
  6. VRF, Ductless Mini Split and HVAC Equipment Support Systems:
  7. Follow all manufacturer’s written instructions and engineering design parameters.
  8. The use of wood for supporting piping is not permitted.
  9. Do not alter or change any support system components.
  10. Duct,Pipe and Conduit Support Systems:
  11. Follow all manufacturer’s written instructions and engineering design parameters.
  12. The use of wood for supporting duct, pipe or conduit is not permitted.
  13. Provide complete and adequate support of all installations.
  14. FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
  15. A factory-trained representative of the manufacturer shall visit the site while the work is in progress to assure that the installation conforms to the design requirements and the manufacturer's installation requirements.
  16. CLEANING AND PROTECTION
  17. Remove all packaging, and other installation materials from the project site.
  18. Protect work as necessary to guarantee undamaged condition at the time of substantial completion.
