Non-Instructional assignments, academic and unclassified, must be approved prior to initiating PCR.

Assignments for the following class codes must be approved before assignment documents can be prepared.

To obtain approval to fill a non-instructional assignment, you will need to:

1.  Complete HR Form NIA-001, Notification of Creation or Continuation of Non-Instructional Assignment.

2.  If the assignment is an unclassified professional expert or community representative, you will also need to complete form C1101, Professional Expert or Community Representative Assignment Request Form, and attached it to the Notification of Creation or Continuation of Non-Instructional Assignment form. If the assignment is an Academic Development Grantee, you will also need to complete form HR R-350, Application for Academic Development Grant.

3.  Send form(s) to the Deputy Chancellor, District Office.

The Deputy Chancellor will review the form, approve or deny the request to fill the non-instructional assignment, and forward the form(s) to the appropriate District Office department for audit.

After completion of the audit, the hiring location will receive notification of approval or denial of the assignment.

·  If the assignment is not approved, the process is concluded and the assignment may not be filled.

·  If the assignment is approved, the hiring location may initiate the appropriate hiring documents.
