The NMVTIS Law Enforcement Working Group operates under the auspices of the AAMVA Law Enforcement Standing Committee. The purpose of the Working Group is to expand NMVTIS awareness and usage among law enforcement and to improve the NMVTIS Law Enforcement Access Tool (LEAT) in collaboration with the Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Administration.

Applicant Qualifications

In addition to being a sworn officer, my qualification and experience includes (you must check at least one to be eligible, but check all that may apply):

☐ I am, or have been a supervisor or commander over an auto theft unit or task force;

Applicant Requirements
In addition to meeting one of the above experience levels, applicant(s) chosen to be a member of the Working Group must be willing to travel to in-person meetings (at least one annually). Working Group members may also be given “homework” assignments to complete between in-person meetings. It is expected that members who volunteer to complete interim work will complete that work in the amount of time agreed upon. In addition, conference calls will be scheduled on an as needed basis. Members are required to attend and actively participate in all Working Group meetings and conference calls.
