NFWI Science and Leisure Committee
Elizabeth Bell Challenge 2016
‘To create a Digital Story’
SCHEDULE
The Science and Leisure Committee are inviting WIs to take part in the next exciting Elizabeth Bell Trophy Challenge ‘To create a Digital Story’.
WI’s are challenged to…
Create a digital story showing the impact that the WI has had on their community.
Digital stories are multi-media narratives; a short film that has a mixture of
photography and audio that represents a personal story.
Pictures, drawings, photographs, maps, charts etc. can all be used within your story as well as any type of audio resources such as music, speeches, interviews and sound effects. The finished story must be exported into a stand-alone file which can be played with either QuickTime player, Windows Media Player (WMV files), or via Vimeo. You may also submit your work via DVD or CD using Moviefile.
Your digital story must last no longer than 2 minutes.
A Digital Storytelling course is now available on the WI Moodle and gives members excellent guidance on technical considerations, working with audio, images and videos. Visit General/Digital Storytelling to find out more.
The closing date for judging at WI House is Thursday, 27 October 2016. An entrance fee of £10 applies to entries chosen to be forwarded onto NFWI. This will be requested once the competition has been judged.
The winning WI will be presented with the Elizabeth Bell Trophy.
Entry form overleaf.
