Bite Sized St Asaph: A snapshot of our diocese -a new book outlining thediverse activities, events, services, schools, buildings and spaces looked after by churches across the area is now available. The bilingual books are free and are intended to be given out as a mission tool to explain the work of the Church in Wales in the Diocese of St Asaph and 2020 Vision. This week:

St Pauls Church, Gorsedd is holding a Community Open Day on Saturday 15 October, 11am-3pm. Church display of altar frontals, church plate original bibles from 1853, records of weddings, baptisms and funerals, with details of persons buried in the churchyard.Lunchtime organ recital.

Stalls and refreshments in the Church Hall, face painting for children, scarecrow competition, tombola and books.

39th Anniversary St Asaph Cathedral Choir Association Concert – 15th October at 7.30pm. Director: Alan McGuinness, Organ: John Hosking. Admission: £10, Choir Association members: £8, those in full time education: Free.

A talk about local men who died in World War One will be given by the founders of Flintshire War Memorials in the Tithe Barn, Church Lane, Hawarden at 7pm on Wednesday 19th October. Admission: £3 - proceeds shared between St Deiniol'sChurch and SSAFA.

St David’s Church, Mold Rd Connah’s Quay is holding a concert by the Buckley singers who will be presenting a programme of music for Praise and reflection. Monmouth Diocese is holding a vocations conference in Abergavenny on Saturday 18th February 2017. The conference will have a panel of speakers from a variety of ministries (monastic, lay, pioneer, ordained, and chaplaincy) and it would be a useful day for anyone exploring vocations to attend the day to hear the panel (who will be looking at the areas of vocation, faith and spirituality through the lens of their particular ministry) and have a chance to ask questions. Charity Card Shop in St Giles’ Parish Church, Wrexham.The shop will be opening on Saturday 22ndOctober until Saturday 10th December between 10am - 4pm six days a week.

This year Ian Lucas MP has agreed to attend on the opening day.

Cards for Good Causes is the largest multi-charity card organisation that open temporary shops seasonally throughout the United Kingdom, St Giles’s Church is the only shop located in North Wales. Volunteers will be selling Christmas cards for over 25 charities and some seasonal gifts and ideas.
