MAECymru St Asaph - Are you interested in…

The first meeting of the St Asaph branch of MAECymru will take place on Tuesday 3 May 2016 at 10am in the Upper Room of St Collen’s Community Hall, Regent Street Llangollen LL20 8HL. Everyone is welcome to come along and find out more about the organisation and to be involved in deciding how we can develop the groups’ work and voice in the diocese.

There are still some places available on “All One in Christ” a one day conference at Holy Trinity Church, Llandrindod Wells on 23 April 2016 with the purpose of establishing Changing Attitude Cymru across Wales. Guest speakers Jayne Ozanne formerly director of Accepting Evangelicals and Jeremy Timm, National Co-ordinator of Changing Attitude England. Changing Attitude campaigns for the full inclusion of LGBT people within the Church in Wales.

'Ageless Majesty' an exhibition of photographs of HRH Queen Elizabeth taken by Royal enthusiast and member of St. Mwrog's Church, Colin Edwards. The event is open from 11am - 5pm in St. Peter's Church, Ruthin, until Saturday 30 April.

Concert at All Saints’ Church, Gresford - Saturday 23 April at 7.30p.m. with The Sirenian Singers, The CountySenior Youth Choir and The Gresford Handbell Ringers

Tickets £7.50. (Can be purchased at the door prior to entry). Children admitted free. Wine and nibbles in the interval. All proceeds are for Church Funds

Next week is Clean Coast week across Wales! As part of the week volunteers are arranging events across the Coastline with support from keep Wales Tidy.

In Denbighshire there is a launch event on Saturday 23April at 10am until about 12, along Rhyl Beach meeting at the Rhyl Pavilion Car Park.

Also on 27April there will be a clean-up at the Frith Beach, Prestatyn from 1-3pm, meeting at the North Wales Bowls Centre Car Park.

Training Together – “Leading Creative Worship in Welsh”. Trainers: Delyth Davies and Aled Davies. In this session Delyth and Ales will be helping us to create Welsh language worship in this ecumenical session and pointing us towards some useful resources for bilingual and Welsh worship. 9 May, 1-5pm in Christ Church, Bala. Training Together – “Managing Parish Finances”. These sessions will cover the role and responsibilities of the Treasurer and how to work with the PCC to manage the finances. Exploring the Power of Prayer through Prayer, Study (learning) and Action. Saturday 7 May, 10am-3pm in Noddfa, Penmaenmawr.

Following the highly successful workshop in Hawarden in March the second of threetaster days experiencing first hand the benefits of a method which can expand your faith and understanding of God. These sessions would be of benefit to both Lay and Clergy.Cost: Free. Refreshments and lunch provided.

ACAT Foundation Course for Treasurers. The Association of Church Accountants and Treasurers is running a Foundation Course in Chester on Saturday 11 June. The course gives an overview of the responsibilities of a Church Treasurer and is not denomination specific. All Church Treasurers are member of ACAT and are therefore eligible to attend. St Michael's Church, Betws Yn Rhos is holding a Plant and Cake sale at Betws Yn Rhos Village Hall on Saturday 7 May, 10am – 12pm. Hanging baskets, bedding plants, perennials, delicious cakes and a raffle. There is a garden on a plate competition for children. All welcome.

“With Saintly Shout and Solemn Jubilee” - The Annual RSCM Choral Festival, this year celebrating God’s saints in words and music, will take place on Sunday 12 June, 2016 at St. Asaph Cathedral. The Festival Choir will be directed by Adrian Lucas - RSCM Head of Choral Studies and Director of the Millennium Youth Choir. Rehearsal 2-4 p.m. andChoral Evensong Service at 5pm. Resurrection - Voskresenije Choir of Saint Petersburg will be touring the UK in October 2016 and is offering the opportunity to hold a concert in venues in Wales. The collection of music includes Russian sacred and folk music. The Course will cover The Role of theTreasurer, Legal & Financial Overview, Budgeting, Principles of Charity Accounting, Systems, Records and IT, Employment, Gift Aid and GASDS, Year-end Routines, VAT and LPWGS. Andante Chamber Choir present “A Heaven Full of Stars”, exploring the wonders of the skies in modern motets, at St Asaph Cathedral on Saturday 30 April at 7.30pm. This is a charity fundraising concert in support of Advocacy for Neuroacanthocytosis Patients. Tickets are £10 and will be available at the door on the night. “Rediscovering the Laity” Public TheologyStudy Day at Carrs Lane Church, Birmingham. Tuesday 3 May, beginning with tea / coffee at 10.30am and ending at 3.30pm. Keynote speaker Professor Elaine Graham, Grosvenor Research Professor of the University of Chester. This study day aims to address the concern that the laity has been sideline and neglected.There is no charge for the day but please reserve a place; places booked on first come first serve basis and are limited. Mark Virkler, founder of ‘Communion with God’ ministries, is a gifted teacher and helps people not simply to study God but to encounter God. Cost £40. Llanelian Spring Fair - 14 May, 12- 4pm, and we would like now to invite entries to our: Llanelian Spring Fair Art Challenge 2016. The title for this year is 'All Creatures Great And Small' The first prize for the all-over winner is £100, with other prizes for children. The winner's cup (and the cash!) will be presented at the Fair at 3.30pm.Entries can be in any medium at all, and under-14s are most welcome to enter.There is a £1 entry fee for all under-14 entries, and £3 for each adult entry.

Contemplation at St Michael’s Church, Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr - The Revd Evelyn Davies MBE will offer quiet afternoons to individuals and groups from 2.30 - 4.30pm each Thursday and Friday beginning on 19 May - 29 September 2016, the Feast Day of St Michael and All Angels. The historic parish church of St. Llwchaiarn, Llanllwchaiarn, in the Cedewain mission area of St Asaph Diocese, will once again be open to visitors on a number of Saturday afternoons in 2016. St. Llwchaiarn's, is situated about one mile from the center of Newtown on the road to Aberbechan. The Church will be open from 2pm to 4pm on the following dates:
