Mental Wellbeing and Spirituality Symposium with Keynote Speaker – Mark Yaconelli.

Should we in the Diocese of St Asaph seek to change attitudes, challenge stigma, encourage inclusion and promote social justice in the area of metal wellbeing and spirituality? The symposium will, through presentations, workshops and open discussion, look at what this might mean in practical terms and how we can be guided in theology and prayer. 11 May, 10am-4pm in Llangollen Pavilion. This event is relevant to all and is free of charge. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

ACAT Foundation Course for Treasurers. The Association of Church Accountants and Treasurers is running a Foundation Course in Chester on Saturday 11 June. The course gives an overview of the responsibilities of a Church Treasurer and is not denomination specific. All Church Treasurers are member of ACAT and are therefore eligible to attend. Resurrection - Voskresenije Choir of Saint Petersburg will be touring the UK in October 2016 and is offering the opportunity to hold a concert in venues in Wales. The collection of music includes Russian sacred and folk music. The Hearth Project – “A Stranger in a Strange Land”

As part of Mark Yaconelli’s residency with the Diocese of St Asaph, we are planning an event to raise awareness of the plight of refugees and would like to hear your story of seeking sanctuary in a new country. The Hearth Project brings people together to hear true stories from real people to shed light on different experiences, to encourage empathy and build human connectedness. We’re looking for six people to tell their story of being “A Stranger in a strange land”. You will be supported and assisted by Mark to tell your story as part of the Hearth Project at Llangollen Pavilion on July, 29.

Andante Chamber Choir present “A Heaven Full of Stars”, exploring the wonders of the skies in modern motets, at St Asaph Cathedral on Saturday 30 April at 7.30pm. This is a charity fundraising concert in support of Advocacy for Neuroacanthocytosis Patients. Tickets are £10 and will be available at the door on the night. Only a few weeks remain for artists and photographers to submit entries for the week-long annual Virgin Art exhibition at Mold’s ancient St.Mary’s Parish Church.The exhibition, now in its eighth year, will open to the public from 2-7 May. Full details are on:

“Rediscovering the Laity” Public TheologyStudy Day at Carrs Lane Church, Birmingham. Tuesday 3 May, beginning with tea / coffee at 10.30am and ending at 3.30pm. Keynote speaker Professor Elaine Graham, Grosvenor Research Professor of the University of Chester. Living out of the voice of God, led by Mark Virkler will take place in St Michael's Church,Aberystwython the 6th and 7th May. Mark Virkler, founder of ‘Communion with God’ ministries, is a gifted teacher and helps people not simply to study God but to encounter God. Cost £40. Llanelian Spring Fair - 14 May, 12- 4pm, and we would like now to invite entries to our: Llanelian Spring Fair Art Challenge 2016. The title for this year is 'All Creatures Great And Small' The first prize for the all-over winner is £100, with other prizes for children. The winner's cup (and the cash!) will be presented at the Fair at 3.30pm.Entries can be in any medium at all, and under-14s are most welcome to enter.There is a £1 entry fee for all under-14 entries, and £3 for each adult entry.
