Business: BOOKKEEPING: LEVEL 2: City & GuildsWho is this course for?
The aim of this qualification is to further develop the introductory book-keeping practices and processes studied at Level 1. It will enable candidates to adjust ledger accounts, to take into account activities at the trial balance date which affect the production of an accurate trading, profit and loss account and balance sheet.
What does the course cover?
Candidates will:
· Check and correct errors arising from inaccurate/incomplete/missing entries in a ledger and day book
· Provide for depreciation of fixed assets using ledger accounts
· Account for accruals, prepayments, bad debts and provide for doubtful debts
· Prepare individual accounts in purchase and sales ledgers
· Prepare purchase ledger control accounts and sales ledger control accounts
· Complete an extended trial balance.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed informally throughout the course to check on your progress at the end of the course you will complete a City and Guilds formal assessment.
Will I get a qualification?
Passing this unit, candidates will be rewarded with City & Guilds Award.
What can I do next? Is there a progression route?
This course will enable you to progress on to the next level of Bookkeeping account i.e. Level 3. You may even decide to go on and do an accounting course where you will learn how to carry out the process on the computer by joining our computerised account course.
Are there any entry requirements?
You need to hold a Level 1 certificate in Bookkeeping. You will also need to have basic maths skills with a reasonable standard of English (reading and writing).
How long does the course last?
This course is 12 weeks x 2½ hours per week
