I. 2017 Budget
· Ken is working on budget, will submit to the chapter this month
· We need a reimbursement plan before Delegate Assembly
o In the past, everyone was just getting $50, but this depends on number of delegates
II. February Meeting
· Women’s health topic, presented by 2 PT’s from Mauro-Bertolo PT
· Maureen will solidify the date, will likely be at IHP because they will open the garage
III. Election Meeting in March
· Open positions on the executive committee
o Nominating committee position
§ We have an applicant for our 3rd position, we can just “appoint” her – Kevin will follow up with her to appoint her and CC Maureen and Brittany on the e-mail
o Other open positions as 2 years are up:
§ Corresponding secretary (Dave)
§ Vice Chair (Amy)
§ Co-chair (Maureen)
§ Nominating Committee (Kevin)
o Will send out an e-mail with open positions and send out descriptions of the positions after holidays, when we send out info for February meeting
IV. March/April meeting
· Kyle Adams reached out to Dave, may be interested a pain topic
o Maureen followed up with Kyle. He will let us know when he decides on a topic.
· Also possibility for NYPTA president to do a “town hall” meeting again (Mike Mattia)
o Last meeting had technical issues that need to be fixed, Kevin suggested getting IMT or EDCOM at Upstate more directly involved to facilitate better quality – will there be costs with this??
o May be best to eliminate “Join Me”/webcast feature and therefore encourage people to be there in person.
o Should we “offer” something – food? Would need an RSVP to get a head count
V. Next formal committee meeting
· January- maybe a meeting using JoinMe
VI. Update from Board of Directors conference (Jonathan)
· Transition from mail newsletters to digital
o Will not go 10% digital at this point, but start to transition from paper copies to electronic versions
· Lobby day changes
o Change format to get in front of legislation as much as possible. Dealing with legislators at local level, but still going to lobby day.
· Next BOD meeting is January 21st through webinar
VII. Involvement with other districts
· Finger lakes district – softball/kickball games
· Brittany suggested doing something in the summer? PT day? (to be continued…)
VIII. Broadcasting of our meetings
· We are one of the only districts doing webinar – we reach people from NYC area and Long Island
o All in agreement that this is still a good idea.
o CEU certificate process takes 4-6 weeks (from the chapter)
IV. Ideas for non-CEU type meetings/functions
· Pub night, look into better locations? Downtown Syracuse has poor parking
· Kickball game and then happy hour? Ex) At the Retreat
· Dave suggested Revolutions – can rent lanes and they will cater
· Sending out more frequent e-mails to get more involved
· We should do PT day of service in the fall
V. Need to start thinking about Delegate Assembly.
· To be continued!
The meeting adjourned at 8:50pm.
Respectfully Submitted by:
Jennifer Collis, PT, DPT
