‘NEW’ West Dorset Indoor 6 a-side Softball Leagues
The West Dorset CricketAssociation, with support from the ECB have organised 2 brand new and exciting softball indoor league opportunities for clubs in the County. The offers are a Men’s ‘200’ Cumulative Indoor Softball League and a Women’s and Girls Softball Indoor League.
Matches to be played at St Osmunds Leisure Centre, Barnes Way, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 2DZ between 12.30pm and 4pm from Sunday the 14th January 2018 to Sunday 1st April 2018.
Details of the formats of the leagues can be found below with an entry form on page 2. Please be aware that there are limited spaces in the leagues so get your entry form in as soon as possible. A first come first serve policy will be in effect. Men’s Softball Indoor ‘200 Cumulative’ League
-Softball equipment
-6 a-side
-Pairs format so everyone bats and bowls the same amount
-1 hour matches
-The age of the team has to add up to at least 200 years of age
This is a new opportunity for older members of cricket clubs to play some softball cricket in a less intense environment. Ideal for members that are coming back to the game and are not wanting to play hard ball cricket.
Women’s and Girls Softball Indoor League
-Softball equipment
-6 a-side
-Pairs format so everyone bats and bowls the same amount
-1 hour matches
This indoor league follows on from the W&Gs softball festivals that were run in Dorset in 2017. The East and South have started their own W&Gs softball indoor league of the back of the 2017 programme. This new indoor softball league provides the West and North Dorset clubs an opportunity to continue to build on their softball programmes in a fun environment.
Costs
These new softball indoor leagues have been supported by the ECB so have provided funds in this first year to help get the leagues started. Due to this the league entry fees and match fees will be heavily subsidised.
Entry Cost - £24 per team
Match Fee per team - £12
The Entry Fee will be due once the team have their place confirmed in the indoor leagues.
WEST DORSET INDOOR SOFTBALL LEAGUE ENRTY FORM 2018
Please can clubs be aware that the deadline for entries into these new competitions is Monday the 18th of December 2017 at 9am. League schedules will then be completed and sent out to clubs for Friday the 22nd of December so everything is place for the start of the league on the 14th of January.
