Levis Commons To Host “Baskets of Basics”

Easter Donation Drive

PERRYSBURG, OH(March 6, 2017) –A tisket a tasket, a very functional Easter basket! This year Levis Commons is going beyond the bunny with a donation drive for area shelters to meet their most basic needs. “Baskets Of Basics” is being held now through April 1stwith 4donation locations and one fun-filled day of family activities.

Personal care items such as toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shampoo,and feminine hygiene productsare being collected for two area shelters. The items will bedonated to The Family House and Cocoon Shelterto assist with care while housed at the shelter, and to provide some start-up supplies as the families transition out on their own.Donations canbe made during regular operatinghours atthe following Levis Commonsbusinesslocations, now through April 1st:Blue Pacific Grill, Directions Credit Union, Salvatore CapelliSalonand Rave CinemasatLevis Commons.

OnSaturdayApril 1stLevis Commons willbe hosting 2 fun family eventsin support ofBaskets of Basics. At 10:00am,guests can enjoy the movie“Hop”at Rave CinemasatLevis Commons. The cost of admission to the movie is the donation of one personal care itemper person.At 1:00pm,a BMX stunt showwill beprovided by The Right Direction. The high-flyingbikeflips and jumps can be viewedon Hollenbeck Drivenext to Bar Louiewitha requirement ofone donation per person toBaskets of Basics. In addition, Spoke Life Cycles will be set up at LevisCommonsfrom Noon-3:00pm with bikes of all sizes to test drive.

“The shelters expressed a need for these basic personal care items instead of the candy and toys we have provided in the past” said Allison Schroeder, Levis Commons Marketing Director. “We are happy to be able to provide an event and a location for the community to donateBaskets of Basicswiththese essential, and oftentaken for granted, items.”
