New Stages Set for VDD2Go

Great West Safety Services released Value-Driven Driving to Go (VDD2Go) in August 2006. The intent of the VDD2Go program is to provide customers with an additional way to deliver the Value-Driven Driving message to drivers. In the upcoming months, we will be releasing additional stages to the VDD2Go program. These stages are being released as a way for you to provide continuous training to drivers on the VDD2Go program. Upon completion of training, drivers will be Value-Driven certified.

Participants will be led through stages of discussion forums created for them to consider alternatives and arrive at their own conclusions. The motivational emphasis is on the moral responsibility to protect the motoring public by preventing critical crashes. Causes are analyzed thoroughly and possible preventative techniques are considered. Close attention is paid to ensure both the proper and improper techniques are sorted out. All discussions include determination of why certain preventative techniques work and why other suggested techniques do not.

Each reinforcing stage of VDD2Go is presented in various mediums. This serves to keep materials fresh and retain interest. While the medium changes, the essential focus does not. Each stage includes testing that is designed to flow from measuring basic routine knowledge to determining individual attitudes, beliefs, and practice. All testing is arranged to measure understanding and reinforce content.

Stage II of the VDD2Go program contains printed materials for your driver’s review. Along with these materials are quizzes to maintain their knowledge and competency. Stage I included an audio CD; use this in conjunction with the printed materials to assist in retention efforts.

Stage III is a DVD that provides a closer look at the four critical crashes, with footage from staged crashes. Each critical crash is analyzed in depth to allow drivers to understand the destructive power of these crashes. The DVD will include printed questions to test your drivers on the content.

Stage IV will involve a revision to the current web-based application exclusively for Great West customers. The online questions will be interactive so drivers must answer each question right before moving to the next one. The site will also allow for test results to be tracked as well.

Drivers who successfully complete all four stages will be certified as a Value-Driven Driver. The VDD2Go certification process is intended to be entertaining, interesting, and easy to use. It should be introduced as something that professional drivers will enthusiastically pursue and view the designation to be a mark of professional achievement.
