Setting the Digit Length on the IP6000

-Web browse to the IP address of the Polycom

-Log in with “Polycom” as User name and Password is ”456”

-Click on Menu – SIP (at top of screen) & scroll down to Digitmap

-Copy and paste The dial pattern below over the existing pattern

Issue 1: Cannot go off hook and then dial the number.

The Polycom phone contains a dial plan algorithm (DigitMap) that tells the phone when it has enough digits to process the call. This needs to be modified for the Australian numbering plan. I’ve come up with the following expressions for Australian numbers.

-0000#Emergency

-0001xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx#International

-00[2,3,4,7,8]xxxxxxxx#Area Code and Number

-0114xx#State Emergency Services

-0119x#Weather,Time

-012[2-4]x#Telstra Services

-0130xxxxxxx#Local

-013[1-9]xxx#Local

-0180[0,1]xxxxxx#Freecall 1800

-01802xxx#Payphone faults

-0[5,6,8,9]xxxxxxx#Local

-Adding these together gives the string below. Just copy this string into the DigitMap field in the Polycom phone. Delete the expression that is already there. The DigitMap settings is found under the SIP tab when browsing to the phone.

-0000|0001xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx|00[2,3,4,7,8]xxxxxxxx|0114xx|0119x|012[2-4]x|0130xxxxxxx|013[1-9]xxx|0180[0,1]xxxxxx|01802xxx|0[5,6,8,9]xxxxxxx|345678[xxx]

Below is an example used at a customer’s site.

-0000|0001xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx|00[2,3,4,7,8]xxxxxxxx|0114xx|0119x|012[2-4]x|0130xxxxxxx|013[1-9]xxx|0180[0,1]xxxxxx|01802xxx|0[3,5,6,8,9]xxxxxxx|[1-6]xx|9x[2-9]11|0T|011xxx.T|[0-1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxT|**x.T

Issue 2: Cannot setup the Polycom phone’s Date and Time

The Polycom phone does not have a method of manually setting the date and time. This must be obtained from an NTP Server. Please refer to the document attached for information on how to configure Windows XP to be an NTP Server.
