RULES FOR THE NEBRASKA NBHA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

JUNE 19TH, 20TH & 21st 2015

BUCKLES TO DIVISION CHAMPIONS

  1. Each contestant must check in at the show office.
  2. Pre-entries must be postmarked by June 5th, 2015 ROLLOVERS FROM OPEN TO YOUTH OR SENIORS ONLY TAKEN ON PRE-ENTRIES NOT ALLOWED ON LATE ENTRIES
  3. Late entries with a late entry fee of $40.00 will be taken until June 19, 2015 @ 6:00 PM.
  4. All dogs must be on leashes.
  5. 4-wheelers, mopeds and any other motorized vehicles will not be allowed during the State Championships held at Custer County Fairgrounds. (***NEW)
  6. At least 1 bag of wood shaving is required for each stall. Any stalls found not to have wood shavings will be provided with a bag of shaving and fined $10.00. (***NEW)
  7. NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON DO NOT ASK !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Management will post “Draw position(s)“ for Pre-entered contestants THERE WILL BE A NEW DRAW EACH DAY THIS YEAR!! LATE ENTRIES WILL RUN IN THE LATE DRAW LAST ON SAT. AND LATES WILL RUN 1ST ON SUNDAY !!!!
  9. A maximum of three gate calls will be given after which time a contestant will be disqualified.ALL RIDERS WILL HAVE A MAXIMUM OF 3 MINUTES TO GET THEIR HORSES INTO THE ARENA.
  10. Only the next 10 riders will be allowed in the warm-up area. This is for the safety of the both the horses and riders
  11. If a contestant competes out of turn he/she will be disqualified.
  12. An electronic timer will be used for all rides. Should the timer not function, a rerun will be granted immediately after the event is complete for the day and after a drag, or at the Show Managers discretion.
  13. There will be no reruns given if a horse falls.
  14. “Zero Tolerance Policy” will be enforced.
  15. Knocking over a barrel during competition will result in a no time.
  16. No signs, banners or posters shall be displayed without prior approval of the Show Manager.
  17. You may enter as many horses as you want.
  18. Contestants cannot change horses during an event.
  19. Open, Youth and Senior will have two races. The Champions will then be determined by the average of the two runs. Since the average is determined by adding the two times together, the splits must be doubled. (1 second off for 2-D, 2 seconds off for the 3-D, and 4 seconds off for the 4-D).
  20. In the event of a tie for Champion in any division, the riders can either run in a runoff or flip a coin.
  21. Target Shoot Out Champion will determined by comparing the time run in 1st race of the Open, Youth and Senior to the time run in the 2nd race of the Open, Youth and Senior and the racer with the closest time wins.
  22. In the event of a tie for Target Shoot-Out Champion, the riders can either run in a runoff or flip a coin. Their time will be compared to their 1st and 2nd race times.
  23. A horse may only run once per class, exception Rule 12, Section A of the NBHA rule book.
  24. A horse/rider cannot change draw positions under any circumstances.
  25. Horse substitutions must be made in the show office before first go on Saturday morning.
  26. The following payout will be used for 4D format; 35% 1D, 30% 2D, 20% 3D, 15% 4D. Number of checks paid in each race, per division:

1 -12 entries 1 Places 41-80 entries 4 Places 161-200 entries 7 places

13-20 entries 2 Places 81-120 entries 5 Places 201 plus entries 8 places

21-40 entries 3 Places 121-160 entries 6 Places

27. Payouts and Prizes will beawarded after the last race of the day.

  1. In the event there are not enough riders qualify in a division as monies to be paid, the money which is unaccounted for shall be divided equally among those who have placed in that division. If no riders qualify in a division, the prize money for that division shall be equally divided among those riders in the other divisions of that class who have won money.
  2. Champions will be determined and awarded buckles after Sundays runs. Western attire must be worn for all photos.
  3. Any questions or disputes that may arise during the show not covered by the rules above, will be settled by the Show Manager whose decision will be FINAL!!!!!
  4. 70% of entry fee will remain in purse plus 100% of added money. 30% will be deducted for show expenses.
  5. Return check fee is $40.00.
  6. NBHA dress code and hat rule will be enforced. Violations of the dress code will be assessed a $25.00 fine. HAT FINE IS 25.00 ALSO!! Show management reserves the right to refuse any entry. COLLARED SHIRT LONG SLEEVE!!
  7. IN SUBMITTING MY ENTRY, I HEREBY RELEASE THE SHOW ORGANIZER, THE NBHA, AND ANY OFFICIAL, EMPLOYEE, DIRECTOR OR AGENT OF SAME, FROM ANY CLAIM OR RIGHT FOR DAMAGES, WHICH MAY OCCUR TO MYSELF, MY FAMILY MEMBERS, MY HORSE(S) OR MY PERSONAL PROPERTY AT THIS SHOW OR IN TRANSIT.
