NEARLY NEW SALE – TERMS & CONDITIONS

GENERAL INFORMATION

Maximum 50 Sellers – First 50 applicants received and accepted

Seller’s Contract – Please complete and bring on sale day or post in advance to Anna Dourado (details on contract)

Registration Deposit – A£10 deposit is paid when you register and will be returned in full unless you fail to attend the sale or collect your unsold items at the end. Please note that the refund of the deposit will be issued separately from your sale proceeds.

Administrative Fee – £5.00 will be taken from your registrationdeposit; includes 50 labels.

Additional Labels – additional labels can be purchased for £1 per 50 labels + a £1 postage & packaging fee if sent separately. This will be deducted from sellers’ final proceeds. (e.g. If you request 50 extra labels with your initial allotment, you will be charged £1. If you make a subsequent request for 50 extra labels, you will be charged £2 per 50)

Confirmation – When you register you will receive an automatic email with your Seller’s Pack. Your labels will be sent in the post within 4 working days or can be collected on arrangement if required more quickly.

MONIES

Sellers will receive 70% of the selling price – 30% is donated to the NCT.

Registration deposit – refunded post sale with your proceeds cheque provided you have participated in the sale and collected your unsold items.

BACS transfers for proceeds from the sale (less the £5.00 administrative fee and fee for any additional labels) will be transferred to sellers after the sale, we endeavour to do this as soon as possible after the sale and this will be no later than one month after the sale.

ITEMS FOR SALE
Items are placed for sale at your own risk. Whilst every reasonable care will be taken with goods left for sale, the NCT cannot be held responsible for any items lost, damaged, stolen or any monetary discrepancies that may arise.
All items must be properly labelled. Failure to follow labelling instructions (within the sellers guidelines) will result in your items being removed from sale or you not receiving the proceeds from item sales.
These items ARE PROHIBITED:
Recalled items (see information about recalls on RAPEX: )
Bag style baby slings (deep pouch and elasticated edge)
Car seats, car booster seats, ’Isofix’ bases or infant carriers from travel systems
Riding hats or crash helmets
Children’s outer garments with a draw string hood
Bottles, baby food & formula milk
Second-hand breast pumps
Safety:
Children’s toys must be safe, complete and in good working order with no sharp edges, peeling paint, seams coming apart or loose attachments.
Clothing must be clean, ironed and in good condition)
Mattresses must have a waterproof cover with no tears, crack or holes. ‘Ventilated’ mattresses should not be sold
Prams & Buggies which must meet the requirements of the Wheeled Child Conveyances (Safety) regulations 1997 and have working brakes, locking devices and harness
Upholstered furniture, including cots and highchairs, must have a permanent label “Carelessness Causes Fire”
Cosmetics must be within their use by date
Carrycot stands must be labelled with size and weight loadings. Must have a guard rail, suitable base and be a maximum height of 432mm. Please supply instructions
Mains powered electrical equipment must be tested and approved by a qualified electrician
Breast pumps must be brand new (electrically tested where necessary)
Instructions – If the manufacturer’s instructions are not included, it must be labelled as such.
PRICING

Pricing–The minimum item price is 50p, and prices should be divisible by multiples of 50p, so £1, £1.50, £2, etc.

Expensive Items – For security purposes, you are required to inform us upon registration at the door if you intend to sell any item for £50 or more. You must provide a sheet of paper with full description of the item and a list of each component or accessory included. (e.g. pushchair with rain cover, cosy toes, etc.)

Price Reductions – Altered labels will not be processed at the tills. If you need to alter a price during the sale, ask the NCT Room Monitor to re-label the item. This is to safeguard your property and ensure the true seller is making the reduction.

Donations – If you wish to donate items to the NCT, please mark the label with item price and “NCT”. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT UNSOLD ITEMS THAT ARE NOT COLLECTED AS A DONATION. If you do not collect your items after the sale you will lose your deposit and will not be allowed to sell at any future NCT sales.

RULES FOR DISPLAY

Quality – All items submitted to the sale must be of nearly new quality. This is not a jumble sale.

Clothing must be clean - No stains, no damage, no missing buttons or faulty zips.

All Other Items – Clean and in full working order with no signs of major wear and tear and all advertised items included. If a minor part is missing or a minor feature is not working, please note it on a separate label or piece of paper. All items will be quality checked and those not meeting our standards will be rejected from the sale.

Misrepresentation – Any seller who misrepresents an item for sale will be excluded from future sales.

(e.g. If a DVD is a copy or a book’s binding or pages are torn, it must be labelled as such.)

DROPPING OFF – 8.30-9.00

For security reasons:

Registration – Collect your seller name tag upon arrival. This will entitle you to early entry to the sale at 10:45. Notify us how many boxes of sale items you are dropping off – only 1 box or bag of clothes please. Provide information on any expensive items.

Drop Off at door – NCT staff will set up your sale items in the hall. Label any boxes you wish to have returned to you with your name and seller number.

NOTE: Sellers will not have access to the hall during set up time. Sellers wishing to shop during the sale can queue in the Members line provided they are still wearing their name tag. Entrance fee is £2 per family. Only NCT committee members and registered helpers will be permitted in the hall outside of sale hours.

CLEAN UP – 13:15-13:45

Pick Up – Your remaining sale items will be collated ready for you to pick up. Sellers must retrieve any unsold items during clean up or forfeit their deposit.

Lost Property - Sellers must check the Lost Property table before leaving.

Remaining Items – Uncollected items left in the hall after 13:45 will be disposed of after one week. In the event that a label comes off an item, the item will be removed from the sale and put in lost property.

SALE HELPERS

If you would like a chance to shop early or would simply like to help at the sale, please indicate this on your registration form or email us at . We also need help before and after the day of the sale. Only registered helpers will be permitted to help on the day and access the presale. There will be a planning meeting for registered helpers before the sale.

DISCLAIMER

The Sale is staffed by volunteers. Although reasonable efforts will be made, we cannot guarantee to prevent any loss or damage to goods. If any of your goods cannot be found and we have no label to verify their sale, the branch accepts no responsibility for them and no compensatory payment will be made. The branch will not accept responsibility for any alleged damage to items.
