This DEED OF FUN made and entered into this 2nd day of October, 1997, byElizabeth Bilisoly Potter, 1996-1997 BEARER OF THE PRESTIGIOUS PLUMB BOB AWARD, Wilmington, North Carolina, 28401, as Grantor to Sharon Purvis Oakes ,1997-1998 BEARER OF THE PRESTIGIOUS PLUMB BOB AWARD, Pender County, North Carolina, and his or her successor(s) in office, of the NCPMA, as Grantee;

W I T N E S S E T H :

That the Grantor, after frugal consideration, the half heartedness of which is hereby acknowledged, has and by these presents does grant, bargain, beg to convey unto the Grantee, for the fiscal year 1997-1998, simply fee free, all that certain non-halidom icon of luck and conversation. This token of prosperity, to be situated on the Grantee’s desk, at work, for the duration specified above, is more particularly described as follows:

Being an object comprised of three pieces of precisely measured, rough cut, hardly sanded, walnut stained, hand crafted, back alley skid material, pine. The fine craftsmanship is noticed in the sublimation of the parts. Constructed with the 1860 western design, this object depicts the image of an 1860 hangman’s tree. Fastened, by string, at some elevated point, so as to have no support from below, a plumb bob hangs in a downright complete vertical fashion from the aforementioned pine construction.

And for a more particular and updated description; prepared in New Hanover County by the first Woman recipient, E. B. Potter, which include the changes a woman will make! Clean, Shiny and dust free not to mention the additional plaque to match the Brass of the Plumb-Bob, see plat attached or see this on the 2000-2001 recipients desk..

This object being the same award presented in the fall of each year to some poor ole unsuspecting soul , at the NCPMA Conference in North Carolina somewhere and duly recorded in the minutes of the NCPMA.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid Plumb Bob Award and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the Grantee in fee simple.

And the Grantor covenants with the Grantee, that Grantor is seized of the award in fee simple, has the right to rid himself of the same in fee simple, that title is not marketable and there is some question as to if it is free and clear of all encumbrances, and that Grantor will warrant and defend himself against the lawful claims of any reversion of stated.Title to the property here in above described is subject to the following exceptions:

3. Desktop easements and rights of way of record if any.

which could be the case.
