COMMENTS: Fill-in speakers are known to not be able to answer questions. She bypassed many of the slides…almost half. Knowledgeable, would have liked to have a speaker that could answer broad NPDB questions. She was put on the spot with several questions. Not prepared and not the original speaker.

4.David Sousa, Medical Mutual

Wading into the Changing Current of Medical Liability- How to Communicate, How You are Paid, and Whether You are Wired to your Patients may determine if you sink or swim.

COMMENTS: Loved it! Awesome presentation! Would love to have him back as updates are available.

OverallComments:1. Food was too close to the elevator and guests through the food was for everyone. Also, Vendors things were taken off of the tables each night. 2. Good Food, and excellent services and care. 3. Wonderful! 4. Excellent Meeting!. 5. Mimosas with Breakfast would be great! 6. Questions would be much more interesting! 7. Feel bad for NPDB Speaker! 8. Great Wolfe Lodge- Great location- do not want Carolina Beach! TN Location good though. 9. Excellent. 10. Would rather have a beach facility for 2018 and not interested in Great Wolfe Lodge. 11. Keep meetings at the beaches please. 12. Great Day! Presenters Excellent! 13. Conference going well- love setup of room for networking rather than classroom style. Keep this way! 14. Medical Mutual speaker was great! Would love more of these! 15. Felt some topics were speaker’s experience vs. teaching. Always keep in mind- new people and may need knowledge for exams and learning experience. 16. Great Speakers! 17. Tort and CEO sessions were valuable. NPDB Session was not helpful! Original presenter did not show- the substitute was not helpful. Might have been better to cancel and use a different topic rather than have them send a substitute. 18. Not a fan of Pigeon Forge. I like the idea of joining with other states, but they need to come to NC. 19. Significantly disappointed in NPDB Presenter. Important slides were skipped. 20. Poor Lighting in hotel rooms. 21. Need windows in conference room. 22. Meeting room was ok, was not impressed with hotel.

Future Topics: _1. Best practices for OMSS- Electronic verifications. 2. Notification to MDs. 3. Communication of Provider’s via email. 4. Fair and Just Culture. 5. Johnston Meeting- NCBON, employer notification system. 6. More from DEA! 7. Medicare & Medicaid Enrollment. 8. Provider Enrollment. 9. Having TJC or NCQA Representatives to discuss current policy, trends, audits, etc. 10. More IT Security Issues, excellent. 11. Certification myth busters. 12. MSO Reporting Tips & Tricks (Not NPDB). 13. More Managed Care/CVO Topics- survey centric topics. 14. Lean Healthcare. 15. FSMB regarding Disciplinary Actions
