NAVAL AVIATION MUSEUM FOUNDATION IS SEEKING A DYNAMIC MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS DIRECTOR

This position supports the National Naval Aviation Museum and the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation in all marketing and public relations matters. The Director will provide marketing and PR support to insure the mission of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation is carried out to its fullest. Additionally the Director will:

  • Represent the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation as its Marketing Director in the local community and other areas as required.
  • Manage contracted marketing firms.
  • Coordinate marketing to support Museum visitation and the Foundation’s development, visitor attractions and education programs.
  • Be responsible for production and management of marketing materials including websites, press releases, brochures, newsletters, print, social media strategy, outdoor and internet ads, TV and radio commercials, promotions and specialty items.
  • Organize, promote and execute special events as required.
  • Manage marketing research, planning and placement of all advertising including newspapers, magazines, outdoor, TV, Radio, Internet, as well as marketing projects and promotions.
  • Maintain accurate and accountable administrative files and records concerning marketing; record museum marketing endeavors, tracking and results for historical verification and use.
  • Manage Public Affairs role to include coordination of media with NAS Pensacola Public Affairs office and Museum director’s office.
  • Originate Administrative correspondence and filing.
  • Attend Foundation and Development staff meetings as required.
  • Perform and assist in other Naval Aviation Museum Foundation duties as required.
  • Represent the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation in a professional manner at all times.

B. S. Degree in Marketing/Business Related Field, 4-6 years of proven successful marketing experience required.

Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to deal with a diverse set of people on the telephone, through e-mail and in person in a friendly and professional manner. Advanced customer service communication skills and a demonstrated ability to multi-task necessary. Ability to maintain cooperative and effective relationships. Excellent working knowledge of office procedures and practices required.

Office Environment, usually Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Some evenings and weekend work required. Travel may be required.
