I was responsible for maintenance and repair work on all pieces of equipment within the factory ( wide range )and also responsible for completing my apprenticeship.

I completed my apprenticeship 18 months before time and obtained full pay rate, and three months later I obtained the higher multi-skilled pay rate .

Role: Senior ( Electrical ) Maintenance Technician
I have had a pay increase and have moved up the ladder within the company, and are know also responsible for helping delegate the work and prioritising breakdowns. I also attend management meetings to discuss problems and the future of the company. I now provide a 24hr call out service to the company during production hours for problems that need to be resolved quickly. My work is very varied and here are just some of the areas I have covered.
Electrical / Electronic skills: Various fault finding techniques on electrically and electronically controlled systems using appropriate equipment, Including Italpresse, Buhler and Idra die-cast machines. Installation of new plant and equipment, Including costing and timing plans
Robotics: Installing, programming, interfacing and commissioning of A.B.B. Reis and Fanuc robots, to automate production processes.
PLC’s: PLC programming, program modifications, fault finding on hardware and also fault finding on machines controlled by PLC’s. ( Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Telemacanique )
CNC Machines: Fault finding and some programming on various types of machines.
Production Engineering: Speeding up of production processes and also automation of processes.
Mechanical skills : Hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding and repair.
Computer skills: Created documents for a new service schedule for the machinery within the factory, and other documents needed for the company to obtain QS 9000, using various software packages including Microsoft Word, Exel and Autocad Light 97.
Management : Organising the maintenance department work and also calling in contractors where necessary. Ordering parts for machines and communicating with management to resolve problems. Organising training courses to build up the strength of the department. Where possible training people myself ( when I have spare time ) .
Objective / To work my way up the company ladder broadening my experience and to feel a sense of achievement all the way.
Interests and activities / I enjoy going out and socialising, I also enjoy snowboarding and have enjoyed this sport for the last few years, I also enjoy doing home modifications when time permits.
I also enjoy computing and surfing the internet, I built my own computer and installed all the software I needed.

I work on a permanent day shift, My current salary is £25000pa plus £2500pa standby allowance (with paid overtime) ( Overtime earnings around £38k)
I am currently enrolled on a CIW website design manager’s course in my own time and my current employer is funding this.
Was made redundant November 2004 due to a factory closure and have been self employed since.
