RE: QUESTIONAIRE FOR THE REVIEW OF UNIT STANDARD AND QUALIFICATIONS
As Chairperson of the Standard Generating Body (SGB) for Primary Agriculture that was responsible for the development of the unit standard and qualifications that were registered in November 2004, and who are responsible for the view and re registration process that has to be completed by November 2007, I would like to request that you take time to read the covering letter and complete the attached questionnaire.
The completion of this questionnaire will give you the Service Providers an ideal opportunity to give valuable feedback to the SGB for the review and revision of the unit standard and qualifications in 2007. Any feedback regarding the unit standard and qualifications will be welcomed, both positive and negative.
All Service Providers that have made use of any of the qualifications listed on the questionnaire must please complete a questionnaire for each qualification and return to the e-mail or postal address supplied. An evaluation of individual unit standard that have been used as part of the qualification on the relevant questionnaire would be welcomed. Additional comments regarding the qualifications and any specific unit standard are very welcome and can be attached to the questionnaire.
Any Service Provider that has not used the qualifications but has used unit standard part of skills programmes or short courses are welcomed to complete the relevant questionnaire for unit standard or submit general comments regarding the unit standards. This feedback will be valuable in reviewing unit standard and ensuring they are a product that can be used in by providers.
The feedback that is received will form the basis of the review workshop to be held at the end of March 2007. The review process will be completed by August 2007.
The closing date for the submission of questionnaire is Monday 12 March 2007. All complete questionnaires and comments must be submitted electronically via the website or emailed to or posted to The Chairperson, Private Bag X 6008, HILTON, 3245.

On The Qualifications And Unit Standards For Primary Agriculture
The sixteen qualifications developed by the Standards Generating Body (SGB) for Primary Agriculture had been registered by SAQA on 13 October 2004. The revision date is 13 October 2007. The SGB has taken a decision to embark on a formal process to obtain comments and input on the qualifications and the unit standards to be in a position to revise the qualifications and unit standards and provide SAQA with informed advice.
The sixteen qualifications listed below and all the core unit standards which form part of these qualifications are up for revision:
