Purpose:

  • To discuss common challenges and opportunities to support appropriate wind development in the Appalachian Mountains.
  • To share best practice approaches to address the challenges and opportunities faced in the communities within the unique geography of Appalachia.
  • To discuss the development of utility scale and community wind, wind development on public lands, environmental and community obstacles, and educational programs.
  • To identify new wind development opportunities related to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
