Re: NRUC Seminars
Introduction
A number of changes will be made to the NRUC system and the NRUC website. As a result, the NRUC team wish to work with the Regional Consortia to present a series of seminars across the UK.
The purpose of these seminars is to demonstrate the NRUC system, introduce the changes that are forthcoming for NRUC and to discuss the Home Office/NRUC Electronic Grant Claim Pilot. These seminars will be followed by full training sessions in the autumn once the scheduled changes to the NRUC system are in place. Representatives from the Home Office New Asylum Model Team and Datamatching Team will also be in attendance.
All users of NRUC, in particular the nominated Lead Officers are encouraged to attend. In order to ensure that we reach as many users as possible, meetings will be held within all regions across the UK between August and September 2007.
The Day’s Programme
· Introduction to the background of the NRUC Project
· Demonstration of the NRUC system
· Detailed guidance on how to use NRUC to its full potential
· Explanation and examples of the NRUC reporting facility.
· An introduction to the Home Office/NRUC Electronic Grant Claim Pilot
· Upcoming changes to the NRUC system.
· Updated website.
Role of the Consortia
The NRUC team is requesting Consortium Managers to work in partnership with us to arrange possible meeting dates, times and locations in their regions.
Each seminar will take place over half a day. The morning sessions will take place between 10:00am – 13:00pm, and the afternoon sessions between 14:00pm – 17:00pm.
Lunch will be provided for the morning sessions, and tea/cakes for the afternoon sessions.
The NRUC team requests assistance from the Regional Consortia to ensure that we reach as many authorities as possible.
We would also request that Consortium Managers provide a list of available dates, assist in booking a suitable venue with internet access, a laptop and projector, and where appropriate arrange catering.
The NRUC team will discuss meeting the costs incurred by each Region for the above arrangements.
As we would like to begin scheduling these seminars as quickly as possible, please respond by Friday the 13th of July 2007.
Full details of the seminar and a programme of events will follow, with a copy sent to the NRUC Lead Officers in each authority.
