National Centre for Excellence and Advanced Research on Diets” Lady Irwin College (Supported by UNICEF India) has been set up to technically support the Maternal Health Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to provide technical assistance on maternal malnutrition, with regard to convening policy discourse, supporting development of maternal malnutrition guidelines (overnutrition, undernutrition) and technically support sister institutes such as Kalawati Saran Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical Collegein testing the guidelines and regional centres (Patna, Hyderabad, Bhopal and Bhuabeswar) in local adapation of the guidelines. The lady Irwin college, Department of Food & Nutrtion will thus work as a consortium with Kalawati Saran Hospital and Lady Hardinge Medical College, to support the MOH (maternal health division) in development and roll out of national maternal nutrition guidelines for four platforms (antenatal care and post natal care- PMSMA, ANC clinics, NRC and IYCF counseling centre).

To support the communication material development, pre-testing and finaluzation activities as well as writing quarterly reports, case studies of progress related to the activities being undertaken by Lady Irwin and its consortium partners Kalawati Saran Hospital and Lady Hardinge Medical College, Lady Irwin college is looking to engage the services of a Consultant – Communication, purely on contract basis, from 1.4.2018-31.12.2018. The position is full-time, is deliverable based with duty station at the project location (Department of Food and Nutrition, Lady Irwin College).

Job profile / Develop, pre-test and finalize appropriate counselling aids (individual and group cousneling ) formothers pertaining to overwieright and obesity such as one to one 10 minute counselling aid, games (2 as needed), interactive AV based/App based applications, SMS messages.
Documenting barriers and enabling factors for update of messages/services by enrolled mothers in the study being conducted in KSCH/LHMC on maternal dietary and related aspects using techniques like most significant change theory and FGDs
Document case studies on enrolled subjects.
Conduct a pre-post analysis on the use of existing cousneling aids/tools after six months of use at KSCH/LHMC, and suggest suitable modilifications.
Work on improving the existing job aids.
Develop video based training aids in coordination of experts/other acasdemic institutions.
Academic Qualifications & Experience / Essential:
  • Master in Food and Nutrition/ communication
  • A minimum of 1 years of experience with a proven professional record in working in the field of development communication (Health and nutrition)
. Desirable
  • Thesis or experience Nutrition Communication related to maternal nutrition, overweight, obesity in public health settings
  • Experience in the usage of media technology, social media for publicinformation/advocacy, and good knowledge and experience in handling of web-basedmanagement systems
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to produce a wide range of communication supports, including infographics, Prezipresentations, videos, and layouts for both web and print.

Skills /
  • Fluency in English
  • Track record of development of illustrations (posters, pamphlets, flip cards, games).
  • Proven ability to work on adobe photoshop filming, still photography
  • Ability to write reports and case essay’s/stories of change, oped in newsppaers, and case stories
  • Ability to develop and manage a blog twitter/fb page messages.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS:

  1. Alleducational professional and technical qualification should be from a recognized Board/ University and full-time.
  2. The experience requirement specified should be experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications required for the post.
  3. Persons working in Govt. or Public Sector undertaking should produce “No Objection Certificate” at the time of Interview.
  4. The qualification, experience and other requirements for the posts are relaxable at the discretion of the competent authority, in case of candidates who are otherwise suitable. Candidates not found suitable for the posts notified, can be offered a lower post on the recommendation of the Selection Committee.
  5. No TA/DA will be admissible to appear in the interview, including (SC/ST candidates).
  6. This position will be purely on temporary/contractual basis for the specified period of time and based on project.
  7. The salary will be based on experience, qualifications, skill set, etc. of the candidates.
  8. The position is offline/part-time based with weekly contacts (minimum) with the project investigator and a monthly deliverable cum reneneration based system
