(PRINT NAME)

In accordance with the provisions of Articles 15, Section 2 – Informal Step A and 17 of the National Agreement I am requesting an Informal Step A meeting to discuss a dispute as defined in Article 15, Section 1 – Definition. In order to keep this dispute timely you must arrange with the Union’sInformal Step A Representative, Robert Williams, as expeditiously as possible, but no later than the last day for the Informal Step A meeting as noted above, unless the Informal Step A parties mutually agree to extend the Union’s Article 15 Informal Step A time limit to meet at a later date. Robert Williams can be contacted at: (202) 400-0052. For this purpose attached to this request to meet at Informal Step A is anUSPS time extensionrequest if you are unable to meet on 09/02/2013.

If the Union’s Informal Step A as noted above is not contacted to schedule the Informal Step A meeting as noted herein such that the Union can meet and discuss the above referenced grievance number no later than 09/02/2013 as provided for in Article 15, Section 2 of the National Agreement, it is a failure by the Employer to schedule an Informal Step A meeting to discuss and render a decision at Informal Step A of the parties’ grievance-arbitration procedure.

As a consequence of the Postal Service’s Informal Step A Representative failing to schedule an Informal Step A meeting with the Union’s Informal Step A Representative for the above referenced grievance number, the Union will appeal such grievance to Formal Step A of the parties’ grievance-arbitration procedure without an Informal Step A meeting being held in accordance with Article 15, Section 3.C of the National Agreement.

However, attached is anInformal Step A time limit extension in accordance with Article 15, Section 2 of the National Agreement. The attached Informal Step A time limit extension must be completed in full, signed by the Postal Service’s Informal Step A Representative and agreed to by NALC’s Informal Step A Representative. The attached extension is not mutually agreed to by the Union unless it has the Union’s Informal Step A Representative signature.

I am available to meet no matter how late on 09/02/2013.
