We’d love to see you! NASEN will not be providing shuttle service between the Staybridge Suites and the Holiday Inn on the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 16th. Your conference packet will include some taxi fare to help get you to the Holiday Inn or the Renaissance where you can catch our shuttle to the Holiday Inn.
Staybridge Suites guests will receive complimentary breakfast at the Staybridge on the morning of the 17th. To save conference costs, we’re providing enough breakfast vittles at the Holiday Inn for guests who don’t get complimentary breakfasts at their hotels. After you’ve eaten on that morning, feel free to come on over for networking and camaraderie.
***None of the hotels are in the downtown area. Travel will be expensive and challenging. The NASEC shuttle runs ONLY between hotels so plan accordingly.***
Hotel- to-Hotel Transportation Options
There are a couple of ways to get between your hotel and the Holiday Inn:
NASEC Shuttle
We’re going to be running big blue Super Shuttle vans between the hotels at appropriate times. Go to http://www.nasen.org/site_media/files/nasec2010/NASEC%202010%20draft%20agenda.pdf to see the draft agenda and shuttles times. The shuttle schedule will also be included in your conference packet. When you board a van, make sure you double check with the driver that they’re going to the right hotel.
Taxi
Austin is serviced by three cab companies:
Yellow Cab Austin: (512) 452-9999 www.yellowcabaustin.com
Austin Cab: (512) 478-2222
Lone Star Cab: (512) 836-4900
Yellow Cab’s online fare estimator says that the trip between the Renaissance and the Holiday Inn should cost approximately $6, and between the Staybridge Suites and Holiday Inn should cost approximately $8.50.
Airport to Hotel Transportation Information
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and the Arboretum area are on opposite ends of the city. There are three ways to get from AUS to your hotel:
Capital Metro Bus
A day pass for Cap Metro (including express routes) is available for $5, making this the cheapest (if not the most convenient) way to get around the city. You will have to transfer downtown to get from the airport to your hotel. You might have to do some walking. Holiday Inn guests, look elsewhere: the Holiday Inn is not serviced by mass transit.
For detailed fare and scheduling information, see www.capmetro.org. For trip planning, see www.capmetro.org/planner/
Taxi
Yellow Cab’s online fare estimator says that a trip from the airport to any of the NASEC hotels should cost approx. $40.
