A Wonderful Day
I have been in United States for almost 6 months, but I have never had any picnic with my friends. One day in the last week, my husband and I were invited to a small trip with his Korean friends. The first time he told me,” We will go on a picnic with my friends,” I was so nervous because I didn’t know his friends. Then I decided to go with him on this trip. Three days before the picnic, they told us the plan. Later on the day of the trip, they changed the plan totally because it was a rainy day.
It was a quite beautiful day for me. We prepared everything for this trip. In addition, we were so excited because this was a new experience for us. A Korean woman told us, “We need to meet at VRC station at 11:00 am.” However, she noticed it was the rainy morning, so she decided to pick up my husband and me from our apartment. At that moment, the rain stopped. An hour later, we arrived at other Korean friends’ house. They prepared Korean food for lunch. We had never seen those people before, but they were very kind to us. They had three wonderful girls. One of those girls was named Elisabeth. She painted my nails with nice greenish color. I was so happy. Half an hour later, we went to the dining room to eat the lunch. A few hours later, we decided to go to the park near the VRC.
Then we went to that park. It was quite beautiful.While we were there, we started to take pictures. We saw a beautiful tree, a lot of ducks and a quite nice area of flowers. When we went the space of flowers, there was a huge rain. We stopped at least 15 minutes. Then we continued our walk in the park when the rain stopped. After half an hour, there was a huge rain coming again. At that moment, a Korean woman said,” We decided to go back to our house. We can’t stay here any longer because a huge rain will be coming again.” Then we left the park at 4:00 o’clock. After that, we arrived at the Koreans’ house, and we took a rest. About an hour later, the Korean women dropped us again at our apartment. When we arrived home, we were so tired.
When I remember that, I feel very excited. It was an amazing experience that I haven’t had before. I hope I can have another nice experience with new friends here in Eugene.
