RESEARCH EXPERTISE:

Climatic reconstruction vis-à-vis Glacier studies during Quaternary,from the Himalayan and Trans-Himalayan regions, using multi-proxy data viz. Palynology, Environmental magnetism and stable isotopes, on the subsurface sediments from various geomorphological features including extinct and extant lakes.

Palaeoclimatic reconstruction and Biostratigraphy of the Tertiary Formations of western Kutch, Gujarat, using palynology and other proxy data.

  • On invitation, attended the IGBP-PAGES Workshop on “Holocene land-cover change in Eastern Asia for climate modelling” A contribution to PAGES Focus 4, Theme Land use and Land cover (LULC) at Hebei Normal University, Shijiahzuang, China, October 9th-11th 2012.
  • Invited to attend scientific discussions onmonsoonal lakes and palaeoclimatic reconstruction using spores and pollen at Senckenberg Research Institute, Weimar, Germany, 9th to 15th December 2012.
