Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), this position will support the development and execution of Edwards Lifesciences' enterprise risk management strategy. This position has high visibility and considerable interaction with senior management.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of the company business continuity management (BCM) program across manufacturing sites, major regional headquarters and key functions. Manage company BCM policy and program. Advise leadership on program progress, gaps and road map.
  • Provide direction and assist manufacturing sites, IT, regions and functions in developing, maintaining and testing standardized BCM plans. Exercise matrix leadership, influencing and collaboration skills in working with operational, functional and regional leadership teams to strengthen the company business continuity posture.
  • Refine, maintain and test corporate crisis management plans; Support leadership when plans are activated.
  • Monitor and drive implementation of prioritized resiliency measures (site improvements) across the company manufacturing and facilities footprint.
  • Lead risk assessment & mitigation projects – partnering throughout company. For designated projects, conduct risk analysis, provide mitigation recommendations and assist in execution.
  • Manage ERM Department budget under VP, ERM supervision. Prepare drafts of annual operating plan and forecasts; reconcile monthly expenses.
  • Prepare presentations/reports for senior management and Board meetings.
  • Manage the company insurance certificate process.
  • Assist Risk Management Director in insurance policy renewal process.
  • Available and willing to travel up to 15 percent of the time.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A minimum of ten years of overall business experience is required.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Exposure to the planning and practices of Business Continuity, Crisis Management and/or contingency planning through experience or training is highly desired.
  • Experience in leading the development and implementation of processes within a department or organization is highly desired.
  • Experience in operations, supply chain, audit, insurance, risk management, IT, facilities/EHS or broad military experience is very helpful.
  • Deep experience in Insurance, Business Continuity, or Enterprise Risk Management, while very helpful, is not a requirement. Where BCM experience may be lacking, a strong proven capability in project management or risk management may still qualify.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, especially charts and graphs, and Word proficiency required.
  • Proficiency in using basic online software (similar to Sharepoint) in terms of data entry, attaching files, and managing workflows.
  • Enterprise Risk Management Certified Professional (ERMCP), preferred.
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), preferred.
