  1. Purpose

This policy establishes guidelines for release and dissemination of information related to the company to news media agencies and their representatives.

  1. Scope & Applicability

This policy applies to all US-based associates of CDS, SAS, and Interactions, including the EMI, OTO, and Specialized Services divisions. It also applies to associates based in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

  2. News Media – Any people or organizations that report on issues through radio, television, newspapers, magazines, blogs, or other print- or internet-based publications.
  1. Policy Statement

The company strivesto ensure consistency in communications with news media in order to maintain a high level of credibility and to protect the reputation of the company and its associates.

It is company policy that all proactive and reactive statements to the news media on behalf of the company and its associates are coordinated by the Communications Department at the San Diego Resource Center. In most cases, a representative from the Communications Department will assign a spokesperson to speak about specific issues or news due to their role within the company, specific knowledge, or experience. Associates may only be given permission to communicate with the media from a representative of the Communications Department.

All media inquiries must be directed to the Communications Department at (800) 598-2497. Unauthorized associates should not respond to the press.

  1. All associates are responsible for directing media inquiries directly to the Communications Department.

4.2The Director of Communications is responsible for providing authorization to associates to communicate with the media about the company.

Electronic Communications Policy

This policy is not intended to be a contract, express or implied, nor is it intended to otherwise create any legally enforceable obligations on the part of the company. It does, however, supersede and replace all previous personnel policies, practices, handbooks, manuals, and guidelines (whether written or oral) which pertain to the same subject matter contained in this policy (except the Daymon Worldwide Global Code of Conduct which is to be applied in conjunction with this policy).

With the exception of the company's policy of at-will employment and those policies compelled by law, the company reserves full discretion, at any time, for any reason or for no reason, with or without notice, to revise, modify, delete, or add to any of the provisions contained in this policy. The company will, however, try to provide reasonable notice of any material changes to this policy.
