TITLE:SECURITY GUARD
QUALIFICATIONS:1.High School Diploma or Equivalent
2.Knowledge and/or training for security or Law Enforcement. Minimum of 100 hours Law Enforcement training with yearly update in 20 hours ongoing training, preferred.
3.Excellent health and physical condition.
4.Must posses a Valid Arizona State Driver’s License and good driving record.
5.A background free of arrest for serious crimes or incarceration for criminal acts; no felony convictions with last 12 months. No Domestic Violence charges.
6.Must posses a First Aide, CPR Card, and EMT Certificate.
7.Ability to electronically convey information (i.e. 2-way radio, 10 codes)
8.Must be computer literate.
9.Must be reliable and dependable.
10.Ability to work weekends, weekdays and willing to work irregular hours.
11.Must be able to work among students and cooperate with staff of the school district.
12.Successful 90 days probationary period, contracted thereafter.
SUPERVISED BY:Maintenance Supervisor
TERMS OF Twelve (12) months per year.

POSITION GOAL: To be responsible for the Administration of all Maintenance Operation and Programs at the department and district levels. To maintain the facilities, equipment, grounds in a condition of repairs and use, so that full educational use of it may be at all times.
DUTIES AND1.Patrols all District facilities and housing to prevent vandalism,
RESPONSIBILITIES:theft, illegal entry and other hazards.
2.Reports unauthorized and improperly parked vehicles.
3.Secures all facilities by ensuring all entry ways (doors, windows, gates) are locked within appropriate.
4.Intercepts unauthorized persons for questioning, directs or detains individuals as appropriate, contacts police for assistance in accordance to the Emergency Action Plan.
5.Assists with controlling students conduct and assist staff with student conduct as necessary.
6.Alerts fire department and school personals in the event of fire.
7.Sounds fire signal to alert fire department and school personnel in the event of fire and assist in extinguishing fire.
8.Attends department meetings.
9.Identifies problem areas and submits written reports with recommendations, as appropriate.
10.Makes written reports of security violations and submits routine daily shift reports.
11.Directs and controls vehicle traffic when necessary.
12.Ability to establish a good working rapport with staff, students and community.
13.Opens buildings and rooms part of the district key program.
14.Operates vehicle in a safe and responsible manner at all items; obeys all traffic sign on school campus.
15.Responsible for assigned security vehicle and ensuring maintenance schedule is adhered.
16.Opens exterior gates and doors when necessary by approved staff to enter the grounds or buildings.
17.Conforms to School’s Governing Board Policies and the Navajo Nation, State and Federal Laws.
18.To provide skilled support services to ensure the safe and efficient of school facilities.
19.Willingness to be an integral member of a successful team, dedication to provide the highest level of service to the district.
20.Participates in various district training sessions for upgrading of security skills.
21.Receives oral or written assignments from immediate supervisor.
22.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EVALUATION:Performance of this position will be evaluated twice each year in accordance with the provisions of the Governing Board’s policy.
