Tax Assistance Program Application
The Town of Caledon is providing a tax assistance program for qualified low-income seniors and low-income persons with disabilities in accordance with Town of Caledon By-law No. 2010-028 as amended by By-law No. 2011-023 which allows for a tax reduction of $450 against the residential real property taxes imposed by the Town provided that the by-law’s eligibility criteria are met.
All applications must be made by April 30th of the current taxation year.

I occupy the residential property as my personal/principal residence for which the tax assistance is applied for, and have been assessed as owner of such residential real property in the Town of Caledon for a period of not less than five years.
I authorize Service Canada to release to the Town of Caledon such information as will verify my receipt of the Guaranteed Income Supplement provided under the Old Age Security Act (Canada); and/or I authorize the release of such information as will verify my receipt of the Income Supplement (IS) benefit under the Ontario Disability Support Program Act (ODSPA) to the Town of Caledon.
Low Income Seniors Eligibility Requirements
I and/or my spouse is 65 years of age or older by April 30th of the current taxation year and;
In receipt of the Guaranteed Income Supplement provided under Part II of the Old Age Security Act(Canada); and
Have been continuously assessed as the owner and reside on residential real property within the Town of Caledon for a period of not less than five years immediately preceding April 30 of the taxation year
Low Income Disabled Eligibility Requirements
I (or my spouse) is a disabled person and in receipt of benefits provided under the Ontario Disability Support Program Act (ODSPA). Please provide a copy of the most recent benefits statement for O.D.S.P.
Have been continuously assessed as the owner and reside on residential real property within the Town of Caledon for a period of not less than five years immediately preceding April 30 of the taxation year
