Dear Parents,
I am delighted that your child is in my class this year. With your encouragement, your child will be a part of many exciting and rewarding experiences this academic year.
Since lifelong success depends in part on self-discipline, I have developed a Classroom Discipline Plan, which affords every student guidance in making good decisions about their behavior and thus an opportunity to learn in a positive, nurturing class environment. Your child deserves the most positive educational climate possible for his/her growth, and we know that together we will make a difference in this process. The plan below outlines our classroom rules and possible rewards and consequences for appropriate and inappropriate behavior.
They are:
RULES:
1.Be responsible for work and actions.
2.Have a positive attitude.
3.Have respect for self, others and property.
4.Raise your hand and wait to be called on before speaking.
5.Practice safety.
REWARDS: To recognize positive behavior, individual students and the entire class will have an opportunity to earn the following rewards:
Individual Rewards: Classroom Rewards:
A positive note to the student Popcorn party
A positive call to the parent Class video
Lunch with the teacher Extra computer time
Extra computer time Special game time
Free time Lunch in the classroom
CONSEQUENCES:
1.Warning given: Write name on clipboard.
2.Time out in classroom: Write an “Action Plan” to rejoin the class.
3.Time out in another classroom: Write an “Action Plan” to come back to class.
4.Phone call to parent: Student will call parent.
5.See Principal: Student will discuss responsibility and additional consequences, if necessary.
SEVERE BEHAVIOR CLAUSE: If you severely misbehave, you will be sent immediately to the Principal.
PLEASE ASK YOUR CHILD TO REVIEW THIS CLASSROOM PLAN WITH YOU. THEN EACH OF YOU SHOULD SIGN THE ATTACHED FORM AND RETURN IT TO ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
