  • $25.00 re-deposited from Jazz Choir
  • Deposit from St. Paul LYF $200.00
  • School needs to reimburse boosters $360 for JEI (Jazz Educators of Iowa) payment
  • Jazz band Charter bus was $1182.00. Amount collected from parents was $920.00 and another $50.00 from Heritage bank will be added.
  • Aurelia Kiwanis donated $250.00 to High School music and $200.00 to Middle School music programs.
  • Alta Kiwanis donated $200.00 to Jazz Band for performing at Pancake breakfast.
  • $85.00 was collected as freewill donation from HS pops concert.
  • Jazz Band Shirts made profit of $209.21

Director’s Report:

Corbet:

  • Music trip went well and felt it was an educational trip for kids and Brightsparks provided a good tour guide. Would like feedback about trip.
  • Jazz band received 5th place at State Championships
  • 7 kids made it to All-State Jazz band. Michael Swanson, Brandon Glienke, Trevor Sangwin, Zach Lukkes, Kirk Carlson, Jason Hinkeldey, and Shawn Henley. Alex Sangwin was chosen as alternate.
  • May 4th will be High School concert at 7 pm.
  • High School will not play at Tulip Festival
  • High School band will play at Memorial Day concert.

Nicole Nuttall:

  • Aurelia Kiwanis has donated money for a Marching band banner. It will be a digital banner costing approx. $409.00
  • MS Solo/Ensemble Contest at BVU was in March.
  • Musical went well.
  • April Concert will be April 23rd a date change.
  • Anthon Large Group Contest will be on April 25th
  • MS will march in Tulip Festival May 16th and will perform for Memorial Day.

Deb Anderson:

  • Has a student teacher helping her

Becky Elemond:

  • State Solo/Ensemble Contest was Sat. April 11th.
  • Hannah Nelson, Matthew Swanson, Brandon Glienke and Alicia Turnquist all received perfect scores with Hannah receiving Best of Center.
  • Jazz Choir received 6th place at Vocal Jazz Championships
  • Large Group Contest will be May 9th
  • Choir will sing at Baccalaureate Sun. May 10th and Graduation May 17th.
  • Motion was made and approved to pay $500 towards Jazz Choir Clinician. Also money from St.Paul LYF of $100.00 and profits from Jazz choir shirts is designated to go towards Jazz Choir Clinician. Mr. Chitty was hired 3 times for Clinics. School will pay ½ if boosters pay ½ .

Scrip Update: Rebates earned $1856.00

Shipping paid: $150-170.00

Owed to parents: $445.00

Need to find ideas on how to get information about SCRIP out to parents/public.

Tax Exempt: Still pending…Still need to establish Boosters as Corporation

Concession Stand: NW IA Football Team asked Boosters to run concession stand. Discussion to follow deciding this was not something we wanted to pursue. Will need to remove equipment from Concession Stand that belongs to Boosters. Will be stored In Michelle Swanson’s Father’s shop in Alta.

  • Discussed Jazz Banquet at Pizza Ranch sometime possibly during the week of the 27th. Date will be set at a later date.

Next Meeting will be May 19, 2015 at 7pm.
