A revolution in 3D printing: Multec's Multec Launches Revolutionary Multex4Move multiMulti-materialMaterial-e Extruder for 3D Printing

The new Multex4Move four-way extruder makes it possible to create 4-way 3D prints (quad) quickly and cleanly without oozing and stringing.– patented in Europe and the USA

Riedhausen (Germany), mm dd, 2016. The revolutionary new development from -Multec, the German innovator in 3D printer manufacturermanufacturing, introduces a revolutionary new mechanism that allows for perfect FDM printing in various colors and materials [P1]without the typical problems of oozing and stringing..

Thanks to a uniqu[P2]e mechanism built into the Multex4Move that retracts the inactive hot-ends behind a protective cover, thereby exposing only the active hot-end to the working area, color and material contamination are prevented. If a user must switch to another nozzle, the original nozzle is first cleaned and then pushed into the active area, preventing any possible residue to contaminate the printing – a phenomenon typically referred to as “stringing[P3]”. Even with single-nozzle printing, the nozzle is retracted behind a cover during the movements when it is inactive, thereby preventing any dripping or oozing.

Oozing and stringing one of the most common problems in 3D printing

A subject that is familiar to every user of a 3D printer are the drips of melted plastic which come from the hotend which is not printing. This is also known as oozing and stringing. Because Mmultiple nozzles are typicallyalso all positioned at the same height, meaning that the inactive nozzle also moves along with the active nozzle over the printed part along with the active nozzle which can smudge the plasticarea. Both of these factors result in a blurred printed product where the different colors are mixed together or where there are threads and drops are formed between components due to stringingoozing.

The solution

Multec is the first manufacturer world-wide to overcome this problem! Thanks to an innovative mechanism, the hotends which are not in use in the new Multex4Move four-way extruder are retracted behind a cover and only the active hotend is pushed into the working area. This prevents contamination of the printed product. When switching to another nozzle, this is first cleaned and only then pushed into the active area to prevent any possible residues contaminating the printing. This principle eliminates the stringing problem – even with single-nozzle printing. Here, the nozzle is also retracted behind a cover during the movements where it is not printing thereby preventing any dripping.

Multec delivers innovation for even more variety

With its Multex4Move, Multec delivers another innovation which makes 3D printing more versatile and professional. Along with the use of different colors, theThe Multex4Move also gives its you customers the possibility of using different materials for a printed product or for the its supporting structures, all of this with a hitherto unknown clean printed product. For example, parts of a component may be printed using flexible material while other parts are printed using rigid material , giving allowing you users enormous versatility within just onone printing process. Each nozzle is individually temperature- controlled meaning that materials with different melting points can also be processed in one printing process.

Another significant advantage is the large reduction in printing timesThe Multex4Move has also drastically reduced printing times with its various size nozzles (0.2 to 1-2 mm diameter), thus allowing for higher volume . This is due to the fact that by using nozzles with different diameters (0.2 to 1-2 mm), significantly higher volume flows are possible when in-filling combined with fine outer coats using the small diameter nozzles. [P4]The patent application for this ground-breaking innovation is underway in bothThis innovative technology is now patent-pending in both the USA and Europe.

Also available as a retrofit for third-party printers

Small, compact versions of this innovative multi-extruder will be available so that you can upgradeseparately for use with other manufacturers’ 3D printers from other manufacturers which you already own. This means that many printers, which have previously delivered unsatisfactory results, can be optimized.

Kickstarter campaign launch

A Kickstarter campaign for this project will be launched in November [P5]in the USA for this project.. Excellent results have already been achieved in the series testing of the Multex4Move. Be a part of the new epoch of FDM printing! Further information at: XXXXXXXXXXXX[RH6]

About Multec
Multec GmbH is based in Riedhausen (Germany) and its philosophy is "Innovations with a future". The company has specialized in the development, production, distribution and sales of high-quality 3D printers and has been established on the market for many years. Their Multirap series printers are not a closed system, rather they can always be retrofitted and upgraded with the latest developments – thereby remaining fit for the future. The components are mainly sourced from Germany and, where possible, from the local area.

In 2011, Petra Rapp and Manuel Tosché grounded Multec. Both of them are mechanical engineers with many years of experience in large German companies. Right from the start, they concentrated on innovations in 3D printing technology and have worked constantly on research and development projects, sometimes alongside universities and industrial partners. [RH7]

Multec Filament resulted from this in-house development. It was developed to have excellent print quality and to be based on environmentally-friendly materials which are not harmful to health.[RH8]

Multec is oriented towards focused on the needs of industry and, as a system partner, offers 3D printers with large printing chambers, industrial safety standards and process security, plastic raw materials and also software support, technology training and industrial services.

These efforts were rewarded in 2014: Multec was awarded the runner-up prize in a Swabian newspaper's Founder Prize. A great deal of interest was also generated with the development of a walking aid for dogs without front legs which Multec developed in 2015 and released free of charge as an open-source kit.[RH9]

[P1]Materials sind wichtiger als colors, daher materials vorne (auch später im Text)

[P2]Für mich macht der Satz so oder ähnlich schon Sinn"A subject that is familiar to every user of a 3D printer are the drips of melted plastic which come from the hotend which is not printing.
