Ms. Chohan:7th Math: Students will continue continue working with inequalities. They will start with graphing and writing simple inequalities and move on to one-step and two-step inequalities. Below are tentative dates for assessments. Please check sideboard and teacher page for updated dates.

  • Quiz - Thursday - Writing, solving, and graphing basic and one-step inequalities

7th Prealgebra: Students will begin working with percent. They will start with converting fractions, decimals, and percents and then move on to setting up percent proportions. Below are tentative dates for assessments. Please check sideboard and teacher page for updated dates.

  • Quiz - Wednesday - Comparing and ordering fraction, decimals and percents
  • Quiz - Friday - Percent proportion / Equation

7th Algebra: Students will continue working with linear equations and also extend their knowledge to linear inequalities. Below are tentative dates for assessments. Please check sideboard and teacher page for updated dates.

  • Quest - Thursday or Friday - Graphing and writing linear equations + graphing linear inequalities

Mrs. O’Hare Barrows– Science: Mrs. O’Hare Barrows’ science class has finished the weather and climate unit! We will start our unit on matter and energy when we return from Thanksgiving break, which will feature labs on density, understanding homogeneous mixtures and physical vs. chemical properties.

Ms. Slavin – Math: Next week, Ms. Slavin’s math class will finish practicing simplifying expressions. There will be a quiz on this topic in the middle of the week. Later in the week, students will begin to work with solving equations. They will use a balance and other manipulatives to help them understand the properties of equations.

Ms. McMinn – Literacy: In Miss McMinn’s English class, students will finish their narrative writing rough drafts.

Ms. Lijoi – Literacy: Ms. Lijoi’s above and on literacy classes will begin reading articles which will become the catalysts for their argumentative essay topics. Students will also begin researching their topics in the media center on Thursday.

**Please note that conferences will take place next week. Afternoon conferences will take place on Tuesday, December 7th and Thursday, December 9th. Evening conferences will be on Wednesday, December 8th from 6 to 9pm.
