Other information:

  • A big thank you to all of the folks that turned out for the Dad’s Take Your Child to School day. We had dads, granddads, uncles, friends and even moms that filled in for our students. We had a huge turnout that enjoy donuts for 2nd-4th grade andlunch for the Kg and 1st graders. PE had a large number of parents participate and got some exercise. It was a good day for so many of our students and we appreciate your attendance. For those whose dad was deployed, let us know and Mrs. Adams will give out rain checks inviting those dads to join us when they return.
  • Friday, October 7, will be Mrs. Bailey’s last day. Mrs. Bailey joined us last year as a kindergarten teacher and then took the secretary job this year knowing that she and her husband will be PCS’s next week. Mrs. Bailey has done an exceptional job as our front office secretary and we have received numerous compliments about her interactions with parents and students. If willing, please give her a big thank you or drop off a note to her this week wishing her well in their move to San Diego and thanking her for being a great representative of Eglin Elementary School.
  • Replacing Mrs. Bailey will be Liz Cox. Ms. Cox will be joining us next week to start the transition. Ms. Cox will be returning to her roots as her dad was stationed on Eglin for many years. Please help us welcome Ms. Cox as she officially takes over on Monday, Oct 10.
  • Please start making plans for Monday, October 10. It will be a normal day of school, but the School Age Program and the Youth Center will be closed. The previous Friday (Oct 7) will be a student holiday with no school.
  • Today was the proverbial “first day of fall weather” so everyone had a little extra hop to their step. We hope you enjoy your weekend and get outside to enjoy the weather.

Have a great weekend.
