8. Contestant membership dues for the season are to be determined by theBoard of Directors.
We need to vote that our 2017 membership dues will be $150 for a general member, there will be no late fee. $50 for a high school or little britches member, $90 for a senior member and $165 for a Canadian Resident. No late fee will be applied to anyone in 2017 for membership dues.
Lacey MM to table this until the general membership meeting/Chelsea 2nd it. Motion Carried.
New Rule Proposal
Current rule – page 17, #5 under Rodeo Entry
5. The rodeo secretary can accept entries from anyone with a valid MRA card.
Upon arrival at the rodeo, member is required to pay all fees due for competition inthe rodeo. All fees must be paid before competing.
Change to – Page 17, #5 under Rodeo Entry5.
Upon arrival at the rodeo, contestant fees are required to be paid in full to the rodeo secretary before competing. If contestant competes before paying fee’s that contestant will receive a no time for that event.
Jojo reviewed and asked for discussion. Jill Sundell asked a question regarding how this was proposed and the board discussed and we made a few adjustments. Rule will be posted as written above.

Day $ Rule. There was some questions about how to payout day money and does it only refer to one day rodeo’s or two. Rule reads:
Day Money
1. Day money is to be offered at any rodeo in all events that have a full performance and slack contestants example a one day rodeo has a full performance in an event and also has slack contestants day money will be paid to the winner of the performance and day money will be paid to the contestant that wins the slack
2. One dollar will be given to the secretary, and $4going to the performance winner.
3. Designated slack will be a separate performance of the day.
4. No day money will be paid at Finals.
5. No day money winnings will be included into point system
Jojo reviewed what the previous rule stated regarding day money, and that this was not in affect at a 1 day rodeo, and questions have come up based on the “example” that is given and it was reported that this example is misleading. Scott reports the way he thought designated slack is not after the rodeo, because there is not a set time for it. Dru offered some more general discussion on how this is interpreted. Scott thought day money was paid only with a “designated” slack. Jojo reviewed reasons why this rule was changed and what the goal was by adjusting this rule, as before many 1 day rodeos did not have day money and this rule change was adjusted to make sure more day money was offered. Scott said there was some discussion at a recent rodeo on having day money should not be offered at a one day rodeo. Royce talked about why day money was started. With that said Scott asked Royce with a 1 day rodeo should there be day money, Royce did not think there needs to be. As this rule is written, there would be day money paid in any rodeo in each event that has both slack and perf contestants. If an event does not have slack contestants no day money would be paid.
However right now people are not doing it this way as #1 and #3 in this rule are contradicting each other. Scott is following it based on #3, the designated slack.
The designated slack is when there is a time scheduled, if it says slack says after perf, it is not designated. Scott asked if there is only one entry can they as the contractor decide not to do day money and Jojo said yes.
Scott MM we follow rule #3 for day money that we only pay day money when there are 2 or more performances and/or designated slack. Jolene 2nd it. Motion Carried.

Jojo has the contract updated and signed, there is a poster being worked on right now. Next meeting we need to finalize some awards and cattle bids.
Brad asked if people have ideas on who we want cattle bids from. He will contact Arlan, and JJ Legacy for sure, but he is asked for other timed event contractors to call. Scott thought to keep it simple we should stick with these 2 as this is the cattle people have been seeing. Also suggestion of Bubel as they had Henderson.

New Business / All / Rulebook – a question came up about our rulebook not being updated annually, and it just being updated online. Suggestion was we print out each year with the membership application, the amendments made to the rulebook.
What is the best way to communicate this to members? Should it be posted with the membership application online, so when people go to print their membership, they print that part too? Should the MRA print it and supply it in the mailing to members?
Discussion and decided we will print the updated rules on the back of the membership letter for each year so people are aware of any new rules.
Also discussed there have been people competing at rodeos who are on the fines list, some discussion on how this has been an ongoing issue with no new way to address it. Jill will continue to send fines list to secretaries.
