Position Title:Internal Sales Agent

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing service to clients' changing insurance needs by selling, health insurance for individuals and small groups. This position will support perspective clients that walk into MHC offices, call on the phone or contact MHC through the Web.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develops base for long-term sources of clients by using referrals, occupational, and special-interest groups to compile lists of prospects.
  2. Approaches potential clients by utilizing mailings and phone solicitation; making presentations to groups at company-sponsored gatherings; speaking publicly to community groups on the subject of the ACA and the Market place.
  3. Determines clients' particular needs and financial situations by scheduling fact-finding appointments; determining extent of present coverage and income levels.
  4. Obtains underwriting approval by completing application for coverage.
  5. Completes coverage assuring deliver of policy and applicable required documentation; planning future follow-up visits and evaluations of needs.
  6. Provides continuing service by providing direct deposit forms; processing changes on policies and providing member support.
  7. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  8. Enhances insurance carrier reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  9. Perform a variety of other professional work as assigned. This includes coordinating special projects and events, attending training and continuing education, and providing backup and coverage for other department staff as assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities;

1.Possess a state health insurance agent certification

2.Obtain aFederal Market place agent certification

3.Possess prospecting Skills, and be able to meet Sales Goals

4.Be motivatedto sale, selling to Customer Needs

5.Ability to develop and maintain client relationships

6.General Math Skills, Organization, Dependability, Statistical Analysis

7.At least two years of experience of Microsoft software including Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point and Outlook.

8.Basic understanding of HIPAA privacy regulations and security requirements.

9.Valid Montana driver license.

10.Highly motivated and self-directing.

11.Willing to adapt and contribute toa team environment.

12.Possess excellent organization, multitasking and time management skills to meet the daily working needs and complete project milestones.

13.Ability to be flexible and adapt positively to change.

14.Knowledge of the following customer service protocols (not limited too):

  1. Ability to professionally meet and deal with the public.
  2. Possess excellent phone skills and etiquette.
  3. Ability to listen and comprehend the basic need of the customer.
