BEGINNER JUMP RALLY
A session for the ‘new to jumping’ Pony Clubber. If you are working in walk & trot confidently & independently in your regular lessons, you are ready to have-a-go! Start with the all-important basics – position & phases. Learn theory first.
Progress to ridden practice over poles on the ground to low level cross pole jumps if you are ready.

PONY CLUB D+ TEST
PREPARATION DAY
An essential activity for D+ Test candidates taking the test next week.Practice & theory – covering Silver levels & D+ syllabus - to help you prepare & understand what is needed on test day. Great preparation if you hope to take your test later this year too and a chance to get Silver certificates.
You will enjoy time on the yard for stable management skills. Riding time will include D+ techniques with canter as well as jumping exercises, if you are confident & capable enough.

PERFECT PADDOCK
Knowledge about caring for a pony at grass starts right from the beginning of your Pony Club career. You will learn about fencing and gates; water supply; field shelters and potential hazards in the paddock. Check out the field facilities at Mount Mascal Stables & take a visit to Little Mascal Farm to find out how it all works in practice. With the Spring grass coming through it’s a great time to get this badge.

This session is for Clubbers who work very confidently on the flat in walk, trot & canter and have either completed beginner jumps during lessons or attended two beginner jump rallies.
The session will be ridden, starting with warm up on the flat, then progress to polework & grid style jumping exercises.

CLUBBERS CLEAR ROUND
The course of jumps will be open for
approximately 2 hours. The first
hour will cater for beginner riders.
Jumps will start low during the first hour. The second hour the jumps will go up, by request. Please check with your Instructor that you are ready for this activity. Jumping a course of fences requires more skill than trying a single or short grid.

No Lead Rein
A morning ride in beautiful woodland for the Clubber who is confident and capable in walk & trot. A great activity to improve your skills beyond the arena. Although you should be able to manage off the lead rein, you will have plenty of help on hand and emergency lead reins will be available. More advanced exercises – such as riding in double file & possibly canter – if the Instructor thinks the ride is capable. You can bring a carrot to give your pony a healthy treat.
Then enjoy your snack & drink ‘on the house’ with an activity in the Clubroom.

SUPER SIDE SADDLE

Back by popular demand following the session last half term. Spend time with our side saddle enthusiast, Nancy learning the rudiments of this old equestrian discipline dating back to the Middle Ages in Europe. Renowned for its show stopping elegance, side saddle remains a popular skill today at all levels, including to the very highest.
We will be taking lots of photographs which you can have by email, as this is a not very often chance to try something very beautiful & different.
