Start from the parking lot of the National Archives, 5780 Jonesboro Road, Morrow, GA. 30260. Directions at http://www.archives.gov/southeast/

5.3 and 7.6-Mile Routes

LEFT on SR 54/Jonesboro Road, and then LEFT onto Clayton State Boulevard.

Continue Straight on Clayton St. Blvd. entering Clayton State Univ. campus.

RIGHT on Weltner to go in front of Athletics & Fitness Center.

LEFT at Simpson Drive to go beside and behind Spivey Hall.

Arrive at Swan Lake (mile 0.7).

RIGHT on path and follow path around Swan Lake to the left.(1 lake lap = 0.8 mi)

Return to Spivey Hall and Simpson Drive and head back off campus.

RIGHT just past the small pond.

CONTINUE straight through the circle in front of Athletics & Fitness Center.

LEFT onto Clayton State Blvd.

Exit campus and CONTINUE straight across North Lee Street.

After crossing N. Lee St. but before SR 54, LEFT on Station Road. (mile 2)

Follow Station Rd to Morrow Pathway on Right (goes to tunnel under highway).

RIGHT on Pathway and cross under SR 54/Jonesboro Road through tunnel.

At end on paved Path, LEFT and proceed bearing right to dead end of Elaine Dr.

RIGHT on Patricia Drive after walking up Elaine Drive.

LEFT on Reynolds Road (135 yds) until Path crosses road & turns back to right.

Follow Path back as it crosses creek and then parallels Reynolds Road. (mile 3)

LEFT into Reynolds Nature Preserve at opening beside metal gate.

[There is no sign at this opening on left just past Hispanic church on right.]

RIGHT to begin “Perimeter Loop” trail* through the woods. [Dam is on left.]

RIGHT option at all trail intersections except Woodland Pond spur. [See *Note.]

After crossing the dam to complete the Perimeter Loop, go beside gate to exit.

End of 7.6-mile Route (after starting route as outlined above)

RIGHT out of Reynolds Nature Preserve onto Reynolds Road. (mile 4.6).

Follow Pedestrian Path/sidewalk along right side of Reynolds Road.

As you pass Rock Springs Baptist Church on the left,

Continue on the Pedestrian Path as it angles away from Reynolds Rd to RIGHT

RIGHT on Path immediately after crossing Path bridge over creek. (mile 5)

LEFT on newer path after 0.2 miles and just before another Path bridge.

Continue to RIGHT through small park at end of Path.

Cross Morrow Rd for sidewalk & LEFT on Morrow Rd. (mile 6.0 @ Graceland)

LEFT onto SR 54/Jonesboro Rd.

LEFT onto Patricia Drive. (mile 6.9)

RIGHT onto Elaine Drive. (mile 7 at dead end)

At dead end continue & bear RIGHT to return to Path and tunnel under highway.

At end of Pathway go RIGHT on Station Road & return to SR 54.

RIGHT on SR 54 to return to Archives on right.

End of 5.3-mile Route (after starting route as outlined above)

Cross Reynolds Rd and go up beside Hispanic church on the Pedestrian Path.

(Do NOT follow Path to right along Reynolds Rd toward Rock Springs church.)

Follow Pedestrian Path beside and behind Hispanic church into woods.

Path ends at dead end of Westwood Way. (mile 5) Proceed up Westwood.

Cross SR 54 and go LEFT to return to Archives on right.

*Note: For the “Perimeter Loop” trail, take the RIGHT option at all trail intersections (but ignore spur trail to Woodland Pond). After passing the Nature Center on left and parking lot on right, go past the barn & follow trail into woods.

Please exercise care when walking this natural trail through the woods. The leaves on the ground sometimes obscure roots and rocks along the way as well as railroad ties that have been installed across the trail at several points to help prevent erosion. The restrooms on the right end of the Nature Center building should be open by 8:30 AM.

3-Mile Route

LEFT on SR 54/Jonesboro Road.

LEFT onto Clayton State Boulevard.

Continue Straight on Clayton St. Blvd. entering Clayton State Univ. campus.

RIGHT on Weltner to go in front of Athletics & Fitness Center.

LEFT at Simpson Drive to go beside and behind Spivey Hall.

Arrive at Swan Lake. (mile 0.7)

RIGHT on path & follow path around Swan Lake to the left. (1 lake lap = 0.8 mi)

Take a Second Lap around Swan Lake. (Longer routes only take 1 lake lap.)

Return to Spivey Hall and Simpson Drive and head back off campus. (mile 2.3)

RIGHT just past the small pond.

CONTINUE straight through the circle in front of Athletics & Fitness Center.

LEFT onto Clayton State Blvd.

Exit campus and CONTINUE straight across North Lee Street to SR 54.

RIGHT on SR 54/Jonesboro Road and return to archives on right.

Left onto Main St after driving 1.7 miles. (Chick-fil-A is on left where you turn.)

Anne & Bill’s is on the left (in small strip shopping center) after driving 0.3 miles.

There’s more parking in the rear if the lot is full.

Leaving Anne & Bill’s….

To get to I-75:

Left out of Anne & Bill’s parking lot onto Main Street.

Left at light onto Phillips Drive.

Right onto Forest Parkway after crossing railroad tracks.

Take ramp for I-75 after driving west 2.4 miles on Forest Parkway.

To get to I-285 (between I-75 South and I-20 East):

Right out of Anne & Bill’s parking lot onto Main Street.

Left onto Jonesboro Rd (Chick-fil-A on left where you turn).

Take ramp for I-285 after driving north 2.4 miles on Jonesboro Rd.

Alternate 3-mile route – Reynolds Nature Preserve, No CSU/Swan Lake

LEFT on SR 54/Jonesboro Road.

CROSS SR 54 at traffic light and proceed down Westwood Way.

At dead end of Westwood, proceed on Pedestrian Path.

Follow Path through woods, past small park and Hispanic church.

Cross Reynolds Road and go Right for a few feet.

Enter Reynolds Nature Preserve at opening beside metal gate.

[There is no sign at this opening.]
