Workshop title: Supporting a step change in school buying

The Department for Education is launching a school buying strategy to support schools to save £1bn a year by 2020 on their non-staff spend. Schools collectively spend around £10bn a year on non-staff goods and services, such as energy, building maintenance and ICT, which presents a real opportunity to deliver savings. This workshop will focus on the different elements of the strategy and how they will help all schools improve how they buy goods and services, to allow them to invest in high quality education for their pupils.

Workshop title: The use of NASBM professional standards in support staff performance management

Workshop title: Work/Life Balance
Name of presenter:Jakki Pritchard
Delegates will be asked to complete tasks such as a “wellbeing wheel” whereby they rate how well they are doing, or how efficient they are, in different areas of their life, such as managing workload, having time out, managing their finances etc. We also complete prioritizing tasks & time management tasks too. The following will be covered:
- Optimum Balance – Individual values, needs of self, friends, family & colleagues.
- Mindfulness of Time & Energy – putting our time into what’s most important & becoming aware of daily distractions that deplete us & make us less efficient.
- Prioritizing & Setting Boundaries – planning, control & delegating.
- Enjoyment & Achievement – the “exhaustion funnel” - importance of hobbies & fun for nourishment & wellbeing.
