Award Presentation

Congratulations to the more than 300 athletes and parents who received awards at our presentation day held on Sunday.

Awards were presented for age champion, sportsmanship, 100% attendance and the most improved athletes for each age group. Encouragement medallions and certificates of appreciation were also awarded.

Major award winners for the 2012/13 athletics season were Nathan Wilkins and Emily Schonfisch who were presented with the Centre Manager’s Awards for showing outstanding dedication to Little Athletics and Jayden Kampf and Nikita Collins received the Rookie of the Year Awards.

Recipients of the McDonalds Awards for the Most Improved Athletes were Ryan Hanser, Tayha Hutchinson and Marika Calvin

Special guests were Member for Beaudesert, Jon Krause, Paralympian, Torita Isaac and representatives of the local Logan Country Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank who helped present the awards.

Sportsmanship medallions for the boys were presented to Caleb Temete, Nathan Cross, Liam Reynolds, Colby Bale, Casey Roberts, Shae Roberts, Forbes McKie, Lachlan Mead, Joshua Pope, Benjamin Hodgson, Joshua Camilleri and Nathan Wilkins.

Sportsmanship medallions for the girls were presented to Samantha Bromage, Jasmine Starke, Annalie Becerra, Taylah Lenz, Tayah Jones, Phoebe Balmforth, Phoebe Refeld, Shonee Giddings, Erinn Howden and Jade Annakin.

Encouragement Awards went to Richard Naughton, Riley Kent, Lucas Strong, Clarry Frakash, Patrick Teese, Tim Pauncey, Mackenzie Starkey, Charlotte McKie, Olivia Naughton, Lucy Forbes and Jenna Lurajud.

Five Year Badges were presented to Kobe Annakin, Erinn Howden, Lara Howden, Abby Howden and Nathanial Lovaszi while Kendal Newton-Smith received a 10 year badge and pin from Little Athletics Queensland.

The Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Marilyn Stockham with runner-up key rings being presented to Michael Garnett, Melinda Lenz, Wendi Willoughby, Judy McDonald, Wendy Schonfisch, Lindsay Newton-Smith and Mick Garnett.

The 38 athletes who competed at the Queensland Little Athletics State Championships at Nathan last week also received certificates listing their achievements.

Tiny Tots had their own special presentation where they received a certificate listing the activities they had participated in during the season and a gift of either a play discus or shot put to practice with over winter.

Following the presentation, all athletes enjoyed a sausage sizzle and played on giant inflatables for the remainder of the afternoon while the AGM was held.
