Important November Dates:

Current Information:

  • As mentioned in the October Newsletter, the church and the preschool participate in Operation Christmas Child, which provides filled gift boxes to thousands of needy children around the world. The school will be putting together boxes for children in the 2-4 year old range and families are encouraged to bring in one item for a girl or a boy. A list of suggested items as well as extra boxes and brochures are available in the preschool office. Items for our school boxes are due NO LATER THAN Friday, 11/10, and any filled boxes can be dropped off through 11/15.
  • November Snack: Tuesday/Thursday 3 year old classes (York, Thurston) have snack assignment this month. Please only bring snack items; we have an ample supply of juice.
  • November Bible Verse: Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.” Psalm 107:1.
  • November Song of the Month: “If You’re Thankful and You Know It.”
  • Thanksgiving Baskets: Every year at this time the preschool places a basket/box in the front foyer to collect donated non-perishable food. Items donated are added to the food baskets prepared at Thanksgiving and Christmas by the church for needy area families.

Reminders:

  • As we are getting close to the time of year when snow and ice are upon us. We want to remind you of the inclement weather policy printed in the Parent Handbook. The condensed version of this policy states that we follow the lead of Frederick County schools.

~If FCPS announces a two hour delay, our school is delayed one hour and we will begin at 10:00 for AM classes and normal time for PM classes.

~If FCPS closes, we are also closed!

~If FCPS announces an early closing, lunch and PM classes will be cancelled and all students should be picked up at 12:00.

~All delayed openings, closings, and early releases will be posted on the school’s website and Facebook page and on the school’s phone message.

  • Friday, December 22nd – Staff In-service, no school for students

FYI:

MMCC Board of Directors: As many of you know, the governing body of the preschool is our Board of Directors. The board makes decisions concerning tuition rates, class offerings, staff salaries, and major school policies. It is led by a chairperson who is a member of Montgomery United Methodist Church and is the liaison between the church and the preschool. Other members include the director, the office manager, staff members and parent representatives. This year’s board members are listed below:
