Job Title: Contracts Landman - RQ17-87 (12 - 18 month term)
TAQA North currently has an opportunity for a Contracts Landman for a 12 to 18 month term. Thesuccessful candidate will prepare, analyze and administer mineral land contracts in an assigned geographic.
As part of this challenging role you will specifically be responsible for:
  • Monitoring contractual obligations, changes in working interest, operatorship, land ownership, and updating contract and lease records in CS Explorer as required;
  • Preparing and processing Independent Operations Notices, Abandonment Notices, Notices of Assignment, Change of Operatorship, etc. and track TAQA North’s obligations in conjunction with Area Negotiator and Area Asset Team;
  • Reviewing, analyzing and interpreting existing mineral land contracts and prepare ancillary documentation to rectify chain of title deficiencies as required;
  • Preparing new mineral land contracts in accordance with TAQA North precedents, incorporating terms and conditions as provided by Area Negotiator;
  • Inputting, updating and maintaining mineral contract information in CS Explorer;
  • Verifying and providing mineral land contractual and well ownership information as required by internal business partners in support of TAQA North business processes i.e. Drilling Approval Forms, Abandonment Approval Forms, AFEs, etc.
  • Analyzing queries from third parties and internal business partners, and proactively liaison to resolve in a timely fashion;
  • Assisting other Mineral Contracts Team staff, as required, to maintain balanced work load;
  • Participating in review and preparation of Mineral Land Department Business Processes and Precedent Documents.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years Contracts Analyst experience.
  • SAIT/ MRC Contract Land Administration Diploma.
  • Proficient in CS mineral land system.
  • Working knowledge of CAPL Operating Procedure and Farmout & Royalty Procedure.
  • Strong analytical, interpretive and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative, innovation and teamwork.
  • Effective follow-up and time management skills
