Application for Art in the Park

September 3rd and 4th, 2016

Deadline: If you want the same space you had last year, your application must be received by April 30th, 2016. Thereafter, all applications will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. No exceptions!! Deadline for all applications is Friday,July 7th, 2015. Participation will be limited to 85 exhibitors.

Entry Fee: MAAA members: $100; Non-members: $150. Fees are Non-Refundable.

Date & Time: Saturday and Sunday, September 3rd and 4th, 2016; 10 AM - 4 PM

Place: Ashuelot River Park, West St. Keene, NH

Details: All Exhibitors are required to leave their work on display for both days from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., rain or shine. Early breakdowns will disqualify you from being asked back. Artists must be present, or have a representative present at their booth during show hours. Site dimensions are approximately 10’ x 10’.

Media Accepted For Display: Oil, Water Media, Acrylic, Pastel, Colored Pencil, Charcoal, Pen & Ink, Printmaking, Photography/Digital Art, Collage, Mixed Media and Sculpture. Quality prints and note cards are accepted for sale along with framed original artwork. All prints must be clearly identified. No photo copies allowed. Absolutely no nudes or crafts (jewelry, pottery, weaving/fiber arts, tiles, t-shirts, figurines etc.) allowed. NOTE: All work displayed in your booth must be original. Work from molds, kits, manufactured goods or ready-made products which have been embellished, painted, printed or decorated will not be accepted. Your booth must be comprised of at least 75% framed fine art/photography,

paintings on canvas or sculpture, and only 25% additional products such as note cards, calendars, or bins of matted prints/photographs, if applicable. Demonstration of your skills as part of your exhibit is encouraged.

Exhibitor Responsibilities: Hanging, display, care, removal and sale of art and/or equipment are the exhibitors’ responsibility. The Monadnock Area Artists Association and the City of Keene are not responsible for loss or injury caused by products sold or exhibited by exhibitors, or through warranty expressed or implied. Insurance for loss, damages or injury shall be the sole responsibility of the exhibitor.

Parking: Exhibitors are required to unload from designated access areas. To protect the sprinkler system, DRIVING ON PARK GRASS IS PROHIBITED by the City of Keene. After unloading, you must park in the large parking lot at the rear of the park, if open, or in the Melanson lot on West St. to the west of Starbucks. DO NOT leave your car in the front parking lot or at Starbucks. Those spaces are reserved for customers.

Security: Security will be provided in the park overnight on Friday and Saturday evening until Sunday morning. However, we do advise that you take all artwork home on Friday and Saturday night. Exhibitors are solely responsible for art and possessions left in the park overnight. Tents and furnishings may be left up, but should be closed as securely as possible.

Set-up: Exhibitors will be sent the number of their assigned space at least two weeks prior to the event. Set-up will be on Saturday from 7-9:30 a.m.. High school students from the Interact Club will assist those who need help unloading and/or setting up their area. All artists are invited to join us for free coffee and bagels at the main tent after setting up. Judging begins at 10 a.m..

NOTE: Tent stakes are strictly prohibited because of possible damage to the park’s underground sprinkler system. Doing so would prevent MAAA from being able to use the park for this event in the future.

Awards: Judges will award ribbons and cash prizes to the first three places in each of the following categories:

(1) Water Media - watercolor, acrylic, gouache; (2) Oil; (3) Pastel, Charcoal, (4) Pen and Ink, Colored Pencil and Original Printmaking; (5) Photography/Digital Art, and (6) Sculpture, Mixed Media and Collage. Cash prizes are as follows: First - $150; Second- $100; Third- $50. Award winners will be announced at approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday. Three Honorable Mention Ribbons will be awarded in each of the five categories.

Waiver: I do not hold the Monadnock Area Artists Association, the City of Keene or anyone involved with the show responsible for loss or damage to any property belonging to me. I understand that this fee is non-refundable. I also understand that I am not authorized to put stakes in the ground to support my tent and that I have been notified that I should be prepared with tent weights to make sure that my tent is secure. I understand that if I drive stakes into the groundon, I may be asked to leave the event.
